Apparently trying to establish herself as a cranky geezer, Hillary said in a speech that young people today think “work is a four-letter-word”. Odd that someone from the hippy generation is now using the same trite BS that was used against them.
Unlike, say Mary Cheney, Chelsea didn’t smile sweetly and ignore her parents disrespecting her in on the stump circuit. Chelsea called up her, read her and got a public apology.
Lemme clarify. Mr. Brew, I don’t know if you’re hot. Even if you were, you don’t have boobs or a vagina, both fatal blows to your hotness in my eyes. I do know that Chelsea isn’t abnormally attractive. She is the person in question. Not you.
Can I make a comparison here? Chelsea got high-paying job out of college based on her merits. Hillary is a Senator because of her last name. Perhaps I’ve misunderstood, but if we’re supposed to value hard work and put down entitlement, I think Hillary is a hypocrite. So good for Chelsea. Hillary’s comments were ridiculous and she deserved to be called on it.
If this is true, which I’m not granting, I think it would be because of how they were raised. Am I wrong?
I sincerely hope she isn’t trying to become republican lite to appeal to swing voters by this shit. Good for Chelsea for calling her on her insulting bullshit.
“Her get-tough talk chastising a generation of spoiled brats will likely play well with heartland voters who cherish old-school values. But it may enrage her biggest fans: A recent poll found 62 percent of people 18 to 34 hold a favorable opinion of Clinton, highest of any age group.”
I really lost alot of respect for her for that and she shot herself in the foot. If she is that willing to turn on demographics people for votes who knows what she’d be like in office. I don’t like it when the republicans try to oppress gays to get elected and I don’t like it when Hillary claims ‘kids today’ are brats for the same reason.
I liked the daily show’s take on this though and the old man.
What else do you think she could be doing? I don’t know how you define “Republican lite,” but it’s hard to figure out who else she could be appealing to.
I don’t know. I guess I hoped she would maintain her identity as a liberal and a democrat and realize there are tens of millions who are comfortable with that, that there is no need to act this way. Guess I was wrong.
