I have to say I’m impressed by the latest posts. Usually when a new person posts such a long reply – indeed, two long replies – the person is nutter coming in to defend the crazy idea. It’s kind of nice to see someone so offended by the lunacy, he signs up and posts a long reply to debunk it.

Finding this site was also a nice highlight to a good week for me! It’s nice finding a site where people are willing to dig for the facts instead of pass along rhetoric as if it were fact.

One thing though: I’d like to see a citation that says jet fuel is a mixture of kerosene and gasoline. I’ve never heard that jet fuel contained gasoline, and have always considered it basically kerosene. (Of course, I’m a non-turbine pilot; so I haven’t given it that much thought.)

Here’s a reference from a supplier of a wide variety of petroleum products, indicating the addition of gasoline in Jet Fuel.

Here’s a reference from Alglas, a manufacturer of some of the cleaning additives used in aviation fuels.
