Cheney has no pulse

Wow, last I heard of this technology, it was an up-and-coming experimental thing which they said might someday be of medical use. I’m surprised they got it deployed so quickly.

That was my response when I heard about it this afternoon. (From there we moved on to “Doctors discovered his heart was two sized too small” and “In addition to having no pulse, if you put him in front of a mirror he doesn’t have a reflection.”)

I don’t feel particularly sorry for him because he’s lived a fairly long life and, unfortunately for the rest of us, I think he’s accomplished most of the things he wanted to do. This also isn’t very surprising since he’s been having heart problems for 30 or 40 years. If he’s near the end I’m sure he’ll be well taken care of. I’m sure it’s difficult for his family and I’m sorry for them.

A heart attack at 37?!?! How the hell did he manage THAT?

I don’t. An eye for an eye. Life’s not fair, tough shit for the kid but fuck him. He’s Evil and hope the rest of his life is lived in terror and pain.

Heavy smoking.

When did he ever have one?

(OK, maybe that’s in poor taste. Oh well)

But not Stem Cell Research.

His mind and his heart had an irreconcilable disagreement over how to treat his fellow human beings (we assume he was still human back then), and his heart lost.

And a secondary, apparently inferior daughter, against whose equality before the law his administration constantly militated.

He’s the devil.

Cheney has one heck of a good medical malpractice claim – it never should have taken 69 years for his doctors to finally conclude that he did not have a heart.

Add another whose main desire would be that he die quicker, than to continue to receive health care paid for by us.
He is an evil man.

Does this surprise you in some way?

Not me. I’d prefer that he linger for years upon years in unspeakable agony.

So, wait a minute, are you saying he has GOVERNMENT HEALTH CARE???!!!1!!

Fucking socialist.

Personally I think we need to change our whole attitude about death in this country. As someone else pointed out, he has time to say goodbye. Now is the time for him to put his affairs in order and face death gracefully, after saying goodbye to everyone he loves. What grief is there over that? Sure, you miss the person that is gone, but you had time to say goodbye, and everyone dies.

I don’t respect Cheney an iota, but he lived a good, full, long life. He saw things that he never expected to see and saw the world change around him. I do not agree it is a bad death at all.

His entire career has been dedicated to the notion that people who are not him but have similar medical conditions should be one serious illness away from losing everything they own and denied access to medical care for treatment of their condition.

Under those circumstances it is impossible to feel sorry for him.

My late husband had a heart attack at age 33. He lived for 15 years after that.

I assure you, he didn’t do it on purpose just to baffle you.

Is he on a list for a transplant? While I intend to DVR his funeral and cheerfully munch popcorn throughout, it seems that if a heart comes available and he happens to be the best match for it, then he should get it. Or is there an upper limit on age for recipients?

Same here.
