Cheney still has money ties to Halliburton

Scylla, I do this because Cheny holds the second highest office in our nation. His sensibilities (or lack thereof) set a significant example for many others in both our nation’s corporate economy and populus alike. An inability on his part to adequately divorce himself from highly suspicious associations or actions inappropriately serves to assuage many potential pangs of conscience that other senior executives (be they governmental or corporate) might have.

That a senior administration official could care so little for the legacy of his actions or the readily justifiable perceptions (and suspicions) of others speaks volumes about the true aims and concerns of such an individual. Permit me to ask how you would feel should Cheny suddenly be awarded a multi-million dollar position as CEO or seat on the board of Halliburton’s directors after departing office. Would you blush at your defense of him then?

I hope like mad that you shall not have to face such an embarrasment. I dread that you shall. Cheny’s position is shameless and in the very worst way.

I’m not sure if I see a large difference in the weight that Lautenburg’s supposition carries versus your’s.

Unless you have a cite that shows exactly how Cheney is hedging, or even hard evidence that he’s doing so at all.

More fun with Cheney:

Gee that’s what you get when you hire your dad’s retreads- their old obsessions too.

It gets better:

Hmm I wonder where the rest of the bogus WMD claims came from?

Scylla, you weak attempts at an insult aside (you’re no Val Kilmer, lets leave it at that  ). You seem to stretch every possible inference to the breaking point, while turning a blind eye to any findings or evidence which ruin your agrument. While watching your semantic exercise has been amusing- sadly I realize that no evidence will sway your opinion.

And sematic this:

“continuing financial interests” that “conclusion” was found by the Congressional Research Service- not whatever Democratic Congressman you have deceide to blame today. So you’re still wrong.

Oh what the section of the story that you keep omitting to include with your opinions couched as facts-- oh yeah, this one:

Although this one may have been more on point for the typical political pit thread:

Huckleberry:

You do realize this report does not name either Cheney or Halliburton, don’t you?
