I think these series of moves will minimize the mistake I made in neglecting to castle earlier. There are a ton of variations that can come out of this position, but the bottom line is that I should be able to castle with the worst effect being that I trade my f pawn for his e pawn.

As predicted, Black now has to play Bd6-f8. It’s encouraging when your opponent has to retreat!
I expect the game to continue
13. … Bd6-f8
14. Rf1-d1 Nb8-d7 (or 14. … Qd8-c8 15. Qg4xc8+ Bb7xc8 15. Nf3-d4 preparing a N move to b5)
when 15. e5-e6 Nc5xe6 16. Nf3-e5 looks exciting.
Treis,
can anyone do your excellent links to the current board position, or do we need to buy Winboard? (It’s time for another link!)

This is not going well.
Winboard is free, and I linked to it earlier. I was waiting for a good move of mine to post a new board, but it doesn’t look like that is happening soon.

(I filled out Black’s 13th move.)
It is from my point of view!
Thanks for that.

I think Black will regret that move. 15. Qxc8+, Bxc8; 16. Nf3-d4, Bc8-b7 (16. …Ke8-d7?; 17.Nxc6+ wins a pawn and gravely prejudices the Rook’s future); 17. Nc3-b5 and the Rook on a8 is getting forked or trapped.

Treis,
I’ve downloaded Winboard (thanks for the info!).
Do I need to set up some sort of ‘host-page’ to give the link to positions that you do?
Thought so. (and I didn’t read glee’s spoiler box in post #63).

Yeah, you need a place to host images. I use photobucket.com.
I did mention this earlier.
The main alternative was 14. … Nb8-d7, when I have the pleasant choice between:
A
B
and the pressure on the d-file is menacing. Plus Black can’t easily castle…

This is going from not good to bad rapidly.
FWIW, I’m following the game with Chess Board Editor - Apronus.com, which doesn’t require a download or image hosting.
You’ll get no argument from me…

Yes, if I were a computer program, I would be showing a clear score advantage to
White.
(Mind you being human means I can blunder. And world champion Kramnik blundered into a one-move mate… :smack: )
Wow. I should have guessed things would progress more on the weekend.
I haven’t had time to look over the latest moves or to try again to get a board set-up. (Thanks for the link usram, that might work for me.)
Anyway:
Again, unspoilered 'cuz you’re way past this. (Lemme know if I should be black boxing this anyway!)
[QUOTE=glee]
Do you mean 11. … Bd6-c5?
It does break up the fork, but I can get the d-file off the Black Queen anytime by playing Rf1-d1.
I would probably play 12. e4-e5 Nf6-d7 13. Nc3-e4 with Rf1-d1 to come…
[QUOTE]
I did mean 11. …, but I was thinking 12. …Nf6 - g4.
I just don’t have time to look over the whole thing, but I think the rook would stay at home to protect f2 and if black sacrifices the pawn on b5, assuming white takes with the c3 knight, then the rook can’t challenge the queen so easily. Plus, she could go f6 onto d4 and really threaten f2.
Sorry if that is altogether incoherent. I really do appreciate your comments and I really like seeing a game play out this way. When I have some time, I want to play it all out on a board IRL and reread all the commentary.
From SixSwords:

From Glee:
Ah, but e4-e5 opens the line of my Queen on a4, so if 12. …Nf6 - g4? 13. Qa4xg4!
It’s my pleasure!

Black now has to play Ra8-b8, but then there are too many threats for him to survive:
