Chicago area dopers - Help! (ORD Parking)

I have a meeting tomorrow night at the Ohare Hilton and I want to make sure I get there on time and all that. I looked at the website for the Hilton and it only lists a $38 valet service for parking. Therefore, I assume my only other option is short term parking at the airport itself. Does anyone know which lot is closest to the Hilton (i.e. which terminal)? Or do you know if there is any self-parking available at the Hilton?

Thank you!

Howdy, interface2x. I talked to Frank at the Bell Desk at the O’Hare Hilton. He says they don’t have any self parking, but what you wanna do is park at the O’Hare short term parking. It’s off to the left as you come into the airport right before the split happens for arrivals and departures - it’s $3 for 3 hours.

Hope that helps somewhat.

Thank you very much for going to the trouble to help me! I looked all over the site and I couldn’t find a local number, all I could find was a national 800.

Thanks again, I’ll follow your advice exactly.

Depending on how long your meeting is, you can rack up big bucks at short term parking. If you park on Level I the charge for 4 hours is $21! Go for the outside, ground level lots (A, B, & C) or the upper levels of the garage (2-6); rates there are 4 hours = $10, 5 hours = $12.

Another option if you have a bit of time. There is long term/Economy parking - exits off to the right as you drive into the airport. 3 hours there is $5, 4 hours $6. You can hop the little people mover tram and ride into Terminal 2, then it’s a short walk to the Hilton.

Parking info & rates here.

I’m back! My meeting was a dinner/job interview at the Hilton, so it lasted a little over an hour and a half. Thanks for the info, I made it in and out without any problems.

We used to park at the Cumberland El stop and take the El to the airport. Just another idea for “next time”.

There’s also parking at the Rosemont El stop, I think it’s on the honor system.
