Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich has decided not to occupy the governor’s mansion in Springfield, saying he’d rather keep his family in Chicago. He specifically mentioned his young daughter, whatshername, and not wanting to move her away from her friends, school, etc.
However, a young lass named Samantha Thompson lived in the governor’s mansion in Springfield for several years, what with her father (James) being governor and all. As a matter of fact, one day when I was a young boy I was walking past the governor’s mansion when I walked right by the young Miss Thompson and her security detail. Kind of a chunky, homely little lass, if you ask me. But that was almost 20 years ago.
I’m curious as to what Miss Thompson is up to these days, and if she’s had anything to say on her years in the governor’s mansion. Last I heard, she’d enrolled in law school in the Chicago area. She’d be pushing 30 now, if not slightly older.
Any Chicago-area dopers heard anything about her? (I say Chicago-area because her father currently works for a law firm there, and I assume Samantha would prefer to stay close to her family).
