Chicago tomorrow!!!

(through Sunday).

What do I HAVE to do? I plan on going to H&M, and Anagramless Guy has some more scenic things he wants to look at, but other than that…?

You’ll have fun! I went for the first time this past weekend, and had a great time; it’s a beautiful city.

You lucky bastid! Here are some recent threads on the subject.

Longer and better thread on it here.

The field museum has a Pompeii exhibit that ends on the 26th.

My dad said it’s pretty cool, he went last weekend.

sigh

SO jealous…I haven’t been back home in over 5 years. Texas is cool enough, I spose (the whole no-snow thing pretty much rocks), but DAMN, I just don’t ever stop missing Chicago.

I hope you’re having fun in H&M :: pout :: That’s my absolute favourite clothing store and I miss it terribly.
Try everything on for me! Stock up on white t-shirts! Ooh and ahh over the pretty colours and soft fabrics! Overspend but know it’s worth it!

:frowning:

Eh. I saw that a couple weeks ago. I thought it was okay, but not spectacular. And the audio portion was substandard. I’d recommend the Shedd Aquarium over the Field Museum. They’re pretty much next door to each other (and that hideous monstrosity that is Soldier Field).

And go get in line for dinner at Frontera Grill. Line forms outside starting at about 4:30 to 4:45. Doors open around 5pm for what’s more or less first come first served seating. The food (and the margaritas) are spectacular.

Click the link and scroll down to the Frontera Grill section. Topolobampo is a different, more upscale establishment attached to Frontera and shares the kitchen.

Queso Fundido and Pato en Salsa de Chile Ancho y Nuez. Yummmm.

Those are some pretty fantastic pictures, nice job.

I personally liked the Pompeii exhibit, but I didn’t bother with the audio tour. I just kind of walked around looked at everything. A friend of mine was also not very impressed, but I thought it was great.

So. Whad’ja do?

It went like this: Thursday: Arrive in evening, go to Boystown, have dinner at the Ethiopian place, go to gay bar.

Friday: Morning/afternoon Magnificent Mile, evening Boystown (again) to see Blue Man Group and a drag show.

Saturday: Chicago Botanic Garden, then Chinatown.

Yeah? The botanic garden is kinda neat - if a bit far outta the city. But isn’t it a bit . . . dour . . . this time a year? And how’s the Blueman Group? Is it as loud as I’ve been told?

Well, the Botanic Garden was about a 3 minute drive from our hotel - we stayed in Northbrook. It wasn’t terribly flowery, but the greenery was still intact.

Blue Man Group is loud, but not rock concert loud.

Pizza? Did you have pizza?
If not, go back and start over.

No, actually not. Nor did we get a hot dog. Anagramless guy won’t touch hot dogs, and doesn’t like to watch people eat them. The pizza thing was due to the fact that we ate at other places each day.
