I know who the wonder twins are, but I have no goddam idea what you’re getting at here. Was it funny in your head?
No shit–I’m not trying to persuade anyone here, because there’s nobody to persuade here. The president of CF is not here, so I’m mocking his homophobic ass. You’re adopting this “above the fray” attitude, so I’m not going to waste my time with you.
If there were somebody here who were actually interested in the conversation and who opposed gay marriage, I’d direct them to start the bajillionth thread in GD, and if I had time, I’d stop by and school them.
But your idea that somehow correcting my attitude when I’m mocking a bigot is productive, where my mockery is not, is ridiculous and pitiful.
Want to engage with the issue instead of appointing yourself Miss Manners? Be my guest. Otherwise, well, otherwise.
The cherry drink was probably Cheerwine, and that’s some good stuff. Their biscuits are also awesome when fresh.
Their chicken really varies in quality, but when it’s good, it’s th best fast-food chicken out there, for my money.
My best Bojangles experience ever was when I was on a road trip and I had some leftover spicy curry in the car but no utensil. I got a Bojangles biscuit and used it to scoop up the curry. Best roadfood ever.
LHoD, I was thinking the drink described was most likely Cheerwine as well. I don’t know if every Bojangles has Cheerwine (because it has a limited distribution area), but I think Cheerwine’s distribution area completely overlaps with Bojangles market area so it probably does.
Bojangles biscuits really set them apart, but I also think that while their chicken isn’t “anything special”, it’s probably the best boneless-style fast food chicken. I think you can’t beat the colonel for fast food fried bone-in chicken, but that’s almost like a different product from the boneless chicken they push at places like Zaxby’s, Raising Cane’s, Guthrie’s, Bojangles, Chick-Fil-A etc.
I’ve always sort of considered Bojangles/Chick-Fil-A/Zaxby’s to all sort of be the same thing with slight variations…and I’ve always thought Bojangles and Zaxby’s are the best of the two, but outside of the South they haven’t gotten nearly the market penetration or growth that Chick-Fil-A has. I like Bojangles enough that I’d do something I never do–invest based on personal like for their product, if they weren’t privately held. I really think Bojangles could be the next Chick-Fil-A some day.
The best chicken I’ve had there was a drumstick, and the worst was a dried-out room-temperature nearly-inedible chicken biscuit. But to be fair, I haven’t had KFC in a few decades, so I don’t have a good basis of comparison on the drumstick front.
My family used to go to Bojangles after church, so I’ve got those good memories, and I like the slightly spicy marinade they use for their chicken.
I don’t think it was, mostly because I had heard of Cheerwine and wanted to taste it. I think that would have rung a bell. A quick Google search suggests it may have been Patio Red Cherry. People have reported it being sold at Bojangles, and that it’s delicious. If it’s a diet drink like some of their other flavors are, then my notion of diet drinks just got flipped upside down.
Sounds like you’re wussing out then. “I’d rather make noise on the internet and holler and mock those who the majority feel are in the wrong so we can all be on the same bandwagon in opposition. You’re a Bad Person for even mentioning that I’m falling short of my potential to effect a social change by stopping my efforts at public mockery. I’m smart enough and a good enough debater to convince most people of whatever I want - but not this guy. He doesn’t deserve it. On with the mocking!”
Is that the jist of your position? Or have I got you wrong? :dubious:
Yeah, I also wonder how you determined it’s illegal, much less ‘highly.’
I’m not saying I support Menino - even though I will not eat at Chick Fil-A. I’d rather the free market determine this - but I don’t think it’s illegal to deny them a business license.
As long as the chain isn’t discriminating by, say, refusing to serve gay customers, I agree there’s no good reason to officially ban them from the entire city. Does the Mayor have that power?
The COO of the company opened a very contentious bag of worms. I could see a company that is has a COO willing to vilify itself as being potentially subject to protests and such. I’m not sure I’d want to have a potential mess opening up in my city.
Yeah, but I’d say you’d probably better come up with a better one than “we don’t like your political views”. Heck, I’d say THAT reason is the one most likely to get you in hot water legal wise. The may not want them there for politcal reasons but IMO they better come up with something ELSE they can use as an excuse.
