Sorry, those of you that wanted to see us. Dave may still be able to swing it, but the cost of the return flight for me (bloody Canadian airlines aren’t helping, either) for a weekend will pay for shipping my household to Baltimore.
I’ll be there, in all my fiery glory. And Jane D’oh just confirmed my room reservation, so I won’t even be homeless! Can’t wait.

No, this is not an announcement of my current activities. What I mean to say is that I will be in attendance for ChiDope.
OK, so Friday night I have a suggestion. A very suggestable suggestion because I really really wanna do it. I found out that the band “Shaffer Street” (formerly The Why Store), will be performing at The Cubby Bear on April 5. I have a number of The Why Store albums and they’re fantastic. I’ve never heard them live, though, and it’s just seredipidous that they’ll be in town the same night I will.
They’re a rock band (not hard rock). Lead singer Chris Shaffer has a rich soulful voice and the new female lead sorta sounds like Natalie Merchant.
Tickets are just $6. Doors open at 8, show at 10, which will give us time to sit, chat, mingle, etc, before the main event. What say all of you?
I just confirmed Timothy O’Toole’s for Saturday night at 8pm - he’s going to send me over the contract in a week or so (after St. Patrick’s Day, when things are a little less crazy).
ChiDope is the weekend just before my last day on payroll before I get laid off, so I’m not sure what I’m going to be doing.
If I go, I’ll need to room with someone. I’m a big whopping maybe right now, it mostly depends if I find a new job in the next couple weeks or not.
You’re welcome to do so, but bear in mind that by the time Hammy and I get to Columbus it’ll be you, me, her, Quix and Jess. And I will be all about the sleeping.

I was talking with Hammy earlier today, who said that she was flying in. And I think quix said above that he wasn’t coming. I don’t know about Jess, though. It may be two of you. Hell, it may be just you until I hook up with you.
Hmm…I could concievably take the train in. Round trip is only $68. But, in the interest of saving money, I’m throwing myself upon the mercy of the rest of you to try to find some floorspace to crash on. I’m short, so I don’t take up much room. I’m cute, so your property value will go up temporarily. If anyone can help me out, it’s appreciated.
Um, I’m pretty sure Quix is still in. Unless his car blows up. In which case I’ll stuff him in my trunk and drive him there myself.

I would love to meet all these people on this board that check in so faithfully. I have to affirm reservations and such though first, make sure there is a possiblity of a ride in and a place to stay. :rolleyes: So for all of those making arrangements, looking for a place to crash here… as long as finances don’t fall through. Still in the same boat as the majority of you, sounds like… keeping fingers crossed though.

Anyone ever parked long term at STL- Lambert? I looked on their website, but I can’t really determine if they have a daily rate or just an hourly rate.
Or, is anyone else from Columbia, Mo going to this shindig? I’d be intensely willing to share gas 'n stuff. Or maybe someone from KC who’s going to be driving past Columbia?

My flight is scheduled to land at O’Hare at 3:30pm on Friday. As of yet, I have no plans for Friday and I haven’t coerced anyone into meeting me, so if you’re interested in a friendly face when you get there…well, tough…I’ll have to do.
