ChiDoper Drunken Debauchery in a Beer Garden - August 25th

So far, the following people said they probably will be attending the drunken debauchery on August 25th at Chief O’Neall’s:
[ul]**
[li]porcupine (duh)[/li][li]BunnyGirl[/li][li]magdalene[/li][li]MikeG[/li][li]DynoSaur[/li][li]Miss Creant[/li][li]thinksnow[/li][li]Shadowfox[/li][li]jarbabyj[/li][li]JoeyHemlock[/li][li]Jophiel[/li][li]Whack-a-Mole[/li][li]boli[/li][li]UncleBill[/li][li]UncleBeer[/li][li]VileOrb[/li][li]Superdude[/li][li]Andy[/li][/ul]**
The following people are "maybe"s:
[ul]**
[li]LNO[/li][li]hardygirl[/li][li]Jeannie[/li][li]wring[/li][li]anya marie[/li][li]fenrir[/li][li]rowrrbazzle[/li][/ul]**
So it looks like roughly 20 people.

Sorry I have been so bad about replying here. Okay then…I may have a family thing that day (the 25th), but I’m not sure yet. I have only asked my dear mother what’s going on about 8 million times, and I’m getting very vague answers. So, if it okay with you guys, keep me (and Mr. Jeannie) on the maybe list until further notice. We won’t need a hotel room if we do go.

Hopefully I will have a definite answer at some point before the 25th :slight_smile:

(And no, this family thing isn’t something I could get out of.)

Bunny, that’s fine with me. I’m warning you though, I’m not a happy morning person unless I am well supplied with lots of caffeine and chocolate.

Oh, BTW, what is this about seeing a Cubs game? Which day are you planning on doing this? IIRC, there is a game on Saturday and Sunday. I’m not much of a baseball fan, but I wouldn’t mind checking out Wrigley Field. How much are tickets? Doesn’t the game start like at 12:30?

Shadow, there is a coffee shop with very good coffee, cappacinos (sp?!) and lattes at the end of my block. We’ll stop on the way out of town and get you a Large Mocha Latte with a double shot of expresso (or something like that!) :smiley:

Now, the only challenge remaining is dragging my butt out of bed in time!

Just a note here. If you’re planning on going to the cubs game for less than $200 a piece, I’d try to get tickets NOW.

The Cubs are a team that sells out when they’re in LAST place…and now they’re in FIRST.

I wouldn’t count on tickets day of game (unless you don’t mind not sitting with anyone and getting standing room only)

sorry to ms. doomsday, but cubs tix are going to be tough.

jarbaby

Sold out. The bastards.

Not surprised about the Cubs game. I guess we’ll just have to be satisifed eating mass quantities of excellent Chinese food at The Phoenix.

Here’s another thought - if “Monty Python and the Holy Grail” is still playing at the Century on Clark, would anyone be interested in seeing it?

Also, I got an email from UncleBeer - he’s on the “maybe” list, not the “probably” list. I dunno, can we have a ChiDope without a moderator? Gaudere, where are you, anyway?

Pope Catholic? Bear poop in the woods? You betcha!

So what time are you guys planning on the Phoenix? I know I’ll come right when we get into town - I’m not sure if Shadow was going to get started on her Chicago SightSeeing right away or wait until the Tattoo and Piercing Group head out.

::still pissed about baseball game::

::reads porc’s Python possibility::

::feels much better now, thank you::

Does the Pope poop in the woods?

<reading the MP idea>

Simply brilliant, m’dear Porcupine.
Would I not like to go?
Does a Catholic bear poop in the Popes pointy hat?

[sub]The answer is “No,” meaning no, I would not not like to go or, yes, I would like to go, your choice.[/sub]

If you guys really want to watch the game.There are quite a few bars around Cubs park (or so i’m told) that we could all go and watch the game.

Some of you were at last october’s festivities and met my friend Jessica. I think you’ll be pleased to hear that she’ll be moving into an apartment in the wrigleyville area on August 23rd. I think there’s a good chance she’ll join us for the weekend festivities.

Got an email from Random - he’s on the “maybe” list.

VileOrb, it would be very cool to see Jess again. She’ll need to wind down after the move, and what better way then a ChiDope? Maybe we can convince her to sign up and start posting, too.

As far as Monty Python and the Holy Grail goes, it’s not at the Century anymore, but it is at the Three Penny as of Friday. Unfortunately it’s only showing at 10:30pm. I think maybe this would fit in better at the MiniChiDope on Friday - what do you think? We could start off at Resi’s, then those interested could cab it to the movie, then cab it back to Resi’s later (which if I’m not mistaken is open until 2) or reconvene elsewhere (like someplace with a 4am closing time or someone’s hotel room for the orgy). All providing, of course, that they are still showing the Grail, which is probably a pretty big IF. FYI, Resi’s is near Lincoln and Irving Park, and the Three Penny is near Lincoln and Fullerton (a few miles south on Lincoln).

once again, I don’t want to be Ms. Doomsday regarding the cubs, but especially for a St. Louis series, the bars around Wrigley are going to be PACKED, and I know three or four them jack up the price of beer specifically for cubs games, so a 12 oz Miller Lite will be $4 or more.

I love baseball and cubs games as much as everyone else, probably more, but we’re either going to have to get the hell outta wrigleyville to enjoy it, or scrap the idea alltogether.

There’s a very nice bar up by my house called The Wild Goose, it’s on Lincoln just south of Montrose. It’s rarely crowded, has hot, blonde russian waitresses and killer spin dip. They show the cubs games on a big giant screen and I think it would be fun.

Then we can all pile in and go to O’Neill’s together, if you’d like.

just a suggestion.

jarbaby

Well, that’s all I needed to hear. I’m in.

jarbaby, I’m for scrapping it - I really have no interest in sitting in a bar watching a Cubs game. I’ll go along with the crowd, of course, but I’m fine with noshing myself into a food coma on Dim Sum at the Phoenix for most of the early afternoon on Saturday. I think I’ll I need to take a nap in someone’s room afterwards, though…

Better yet, let’s go see Hedwig and the Angry Inch!

porc, you are MORE than welcome to use my room (and Shadow’s) for a little shut-eye after the Dim Sum! I was thinking Shadow and I would just meet you all at the restaurant (ts and Superdude, want us to pick you up at the hotel on the way by?) and then check in at the hotel after brunch. After that, of course, the P&TS (Piercing and Tattoo Society) will be heading out so you’ll have peace and quiet until we get back. I think Shadow is heading out afterwards for some sightseeing so I would guess you’d have it all to yourself.

Unless you were looking for company (:stuck_out_tongue: ), then I can’t help you!

Cross me off the list.

My nephew’s flying in that weekend from Utah to visit the family here. I haven’t seen him f2f for over a year and I need to hang out wih him so he can remind me that even though he’s eleven, he’s taller than me already. :slight_smile:
Have fun y’all and remember to make sure if anything gets pierced, to take proper care of it.
