Anyway, I did find a great ring but the guy at the studio said he recommended buying them from his shop, at least for the first one, because he wouldn’t have time to sterilize the one I brought before the piercing. I’ll let hubby buy me the moonstone and sterling silver one for Christmas that I’ve got my eye on. I do have just the tank top to wear in order to let my new ring shine forth (along with not rubbing on the new piercing). It looks similar to this, except the neck is a deeper V, wider shoulders, and its got a racerback to it. Looks good. I’m not sure if it’s supposed to be an undergarment (since I got it at the Gap Body store) or what. But I don’t care. Hubby let me wear it to the fair so I don’t think it looks too…too…much.

I just opened this thread for the first time, thinking that it could be fun to go to a non-NYC Dopefest for a change. The difficult thing, of course, being the expense. Assuming plane tickets aren’t exorbitantly expensive (and I haven’t searched yet) I would need to bunk with someone. Anyone got a spare corner?

I’m not sure if I’m going to do the touristy thing after all. I kind of wanted to visit one of these places as a group, but nobody else seems interested. Okay if I just hang out with you, Bunnygirl, when you guys go get yourselves mutilated…errr, I mean tattooed and pierced?

We can plan on leaving right from The Phoenix.
I have no idea what my schedule for the weekend will be except I plan to do everything in my power to leave work out of it. If I stay up half the night drinking on friday, I won’t be doing much on Saturday until evening. OTOH, if I wake up on saturday morning I’ll be up for whatever. There are local dopers with my cell number. Anyone who I party with on Friday is welcome to record that number as well. I refuse to make firm commitments (to anything other than if someone needed a commitment on a place to crash, which I can supply - email me in need.)
Now, that said, I would be interested in doing almost any of the fun things proposed. I would request that any group of people doing something semi organized arrange a way to be contacted and an open mind on joiners. I have a car and money so no help would be asked except possibly information.
Now have any plans for Friday solidified? Seems like everyone’s playing it by ear. Humph. And I thought that was my special right for being Vile. I saw The Holy Grail on Monday with MikeG. Nice. Cept I still remember a quick scene after the music where they arrive back at Camelot to discover the carnivorous rabbit waiting for them. RunAway!!! This was supposed to have an extra 23 seconds not less. Oh well, maybe I dreamt it. Anyway, I’m always up for shooting a few games of pool or darts, drinking some alcoholic beverages, and flirting with the girls. That seems to be what happens when everyone plays it by ear and no one organizes. Lucky for me, it’s one of my favorite things.
OK, now what’s the plans for the 10th? Who’s going to be there? I think I could make it, but I have massive laundry needing done. Anyone want to go to the laundry bar and drink with me while my laundry tumbles in the next room? I’ll let you fold if ya promise not to chew on my undies.

I don’t think I’m available for minidope, but I am taking three days off of work surrounding ChiDope, so the debauchery can go as planned AND I can sleep the debauchery off. As far as I’m concerned, I’m handing myself off to the dopers on Friday and if I show up alive in my own apartment on Sunday night, all the better.

VileOrb, we’ve still got a couple of weeks to argue about the specifics. 
For Friday, the only definite so far is to meet in the Beer Garden at Resi’s, probably starting around 7:30. As far as out-of-towners joining us Friday, I know thinksnow, Superdude, and UncleBill are planning on being in town Friday night. Anyone else? Or do I get all the DoperGuys to myself? I have no idea which locals are planning on showing. Perhaps a movie, perhaps not - we can probably wing it.
As for Saturday - MikeG, what time do you think we should plan on showing at the Phoenix and Chief O’Neill’s, respectively? Maybe 11 for Dim Sum, and 7 for the evening festivities?
As far as the 10th goes, since I didn’t exactly get an overwhelming response here, I went ahead ahead and made alternate plans. I know - I’m a bad bad girl and I should be punished.

Our plans are to stop and pick ts and SuperDude up at the hotel (and check in, depending on when we get there) and then drive over to The Phoenix to meet y’all. After Dim Sum, it’s off to Aurora. I’m thinking we’ll be back by 3:00 (taking into consideration the drive time) if we leave around 12:00-12:30 from The Phoenix.

Okay, I had to look up Dim Sum on the internet and according to what I read, most of it involves shrimp dishes. Well, I’m deathly allergic to shrimp. How far is the Phoenix away from the hotel? If it’s not too far, I was thinking about having Bunny drop me off at the hotel and I’ll get us checked in, then I will go to the room and nap or something for the hour or two it will take the rest of you to eat at the chinese place, then Bunny can pick me back up and then we can run off to the tattoo place? Is this plan workable or not?

Works for me. The hotel is about 30 minutes from The Phoenix, but no biggie. We can come back and pick you up after Dim Sum.
