Are you some kind of jack ass? What did I “make up”?
I know you like to knee jerk defence of religion but I was not attacking it. Catholic(thus unmarried) priests who target non-familial boys are in the highest recidivism category for sex offenders. Try not to be such an asshole when you don’t understand a post.
Ah, CarnalK, I see you’re not exactly making stuff up, but you certainly are obscuring things & also making some nifty little jumps to conclusions. I’ve no idea if the man had been married prior to his entrance into the priesthood (yes, there is such a thing; widower, for example). I’ve no idea if all of his victims were males.
I’m not knee-jerking defense of religion, Carnal. I’m querying you about your conclusion. I’m certainly not defending the former priest’s molesting of children. What I am doing is querying the people who are “dancing in the street” over this murder about that.
He got the legal punishment? If it were up to me, the legal punishment would be death. Save the prisoners the trouble. Now then, stop being such a fucking cocksucking asshole. The only reason you’d be afraid of my making the laws is if you yourself were a pedophile. I hope you’re not one.
Not really, you were accusing me of lying. I certainly am not happy with this guy’s murder.
No, I don’t know he if he “only” targetted boys but that was what he was arrested and jailed for. And I submit you might know that if you actually read anything about the case.
Wow. Monty, I just did a search for your username in the Pit. Seems you are quite the fucking asshole, and have about a bazillion and one threads dedicated to you. You come off as rather psychotic, so I am ending this debate with your sorry, pedophile-supporting ass. I wouldn’t even bother typing a reply if I were you.
And may I also distance myself from TMWTGG? I think prison’s main focus should be reformation, not for giving guys with small wienies like TMWTGG vicarious power trips.
Okay, I’m going to do something unprecedented in the history of this board. I apologize for my actions. Monty, I apolgize to you. I will be honest. I was molested as a child, and it’s a VERY painful thing to deal with. I have numerous issues to it to this day. I really shouldn’t let myself get carried away with this. Please forgive me. I’m sorry about this, my mind gets carried away with this.
I don’t know what happened to the pedophile, but it sucks. I don’t particularly like pedophiles (does anyone). I’m sorry I broke down. It’s a very nasty subject for me.
So? What does being a pedophile have anything to do with sex offenders?
Of course not. Are you saying that pedophiles should be released only after they are (impossibly) no longer pedophiles? Or are you just trying to score a point?
Uh yeah. I made the fantastic leap that the Cartholic priest was unmarried. Also, the Olympian jump that his arrest charges were representitive of his crimes. So I guess you’re right. If I was on his parole board I promise I would research it more.
ps- I hope the mods don’t take your forgiveness to seriously. I don’t like reading that kind of stuff even if it’s not directed at me (or even at someone really get on my nerves ).
Well, there are Catholic priests who are married and that’s with the blessing of their church! There are also priests who entered the priesthood after their spouse expired (even if they’re the ones who didn’t cause it! {jk}). And back in the late 1970s (1977~1978), one of the Catholic Chaplains in the US Army in Korea was an unmarried man who adopted a couple of children–with the blessing of the Catholic church. The Stars & Stripes had a very good column on him.
I admit that those guys are a very insignificant number of those in the Catholic priesthood.
Why’d you say you hope the mods don’t take it seriously? Typo?
Now let’s get back to bashing the former priest’s actions and also the muderer and the prison authorities for letting the murder happen in the first place! Focus, people, focus!
Well, the reason I think this is the case is the method. Strangulation feels like a very personal, intense form of murder, as opposed to stabbing or blunt force trauma. It makes me think that the killer had some emotional force behind it, quite possibly a molestation of his own in his youth.
Aha! Actually I sent him a polite e-mail thanking him and got a very nice one in response. I thought both the apology and the e-mail were very big of him!
Not necessarily. It may (and I think, this is most likely) have been the only weapon he had available. It’s relatively quick, and quiet which is pretty important in a prison, ya know?
