:smack:
When is that coming back to DVD, btw?
Judy Garland was a much more talented entertainer than her parents. And Frank Sinatra Jr is so much better an actor and singer and dancer than his father was. Not.
Kinky Friedman once wrote: No matter how good Hank Williams Jr. ever gets, after every concert someone is going to come up to him and say “You’re never be as good as your daddy.”
Rose Wilder Lane was a better writer than her mother Laura Ingalls Wilder IMHO.
Kate Hudson is a fantastic, Oscar-winning actress. And stunningly gorgeous.
Goldie Hawn is, um, a sweet, blond, funny looking goofball.
And an Oscar-winning actress.
Maybe not “more talented” but Emilio Estavez and Charlie Sheen are as good as their father Martin Sheen
Oops! Pardon my youth…

Kate may be a great actress, but she’s not an Oscar-winning one.
I think Carol Higgins Clark is a better writer than her mother Mary.

This photo was taken 40 years ago. I think Goldie Hawn was as gorgeous then as her look alike daughter is now.
 Icerigger:
Icerigger:I don’t know about more talent but it is reported that Jack Cassidy was very jealous of the success and adulation of his son David Cassidy of “The Partridge Family” fame. A fine and respected old time actor Vs a pop teen music sensation who drew huge crowds.
Same could be said of Shaun, his son with Shirley Jones. Both David & Shaun achieved some success in musical theatre too.
Lennie Kravitz is a better musical artist than his mother, Roxie Roker (Helen Willis on The Jeffersons), was an actress.
Let’s not forget John, Robert & Teddy Kennedy. They did much more than Old Joe Kennedy ever did.

Well, legally, anyway…
There’s Johann Sebastian Bach, who wasn’t just better than Dad, he was better than his entire family, who’s name, “Bach”, was synonymous with “musicians” for over 200 years. In one town, musicians were actually called “Bach’s”, even after the last family member left.

Now to me Liza SHOULD have been more talented than her mother. I think she had the ability to be but lost it do drugs and alcohol. Thus Judy still is better, but Liza SHOULD’ve been.
William Lloyd Webber was a musician and composer who had very low self-esteem and gave up too easy. He told his sons “Only go into music if there’s nothing else you feel you can do.”
Fortunately Julian & Andrew did not take his advice.
Jeff Bridges is a better actor than Lloyd Bridges. Lloyd never gave us anything as enduring as the Dude.
ETA, I think Josh Brolin is already starting to outshine his father.

(More celebrated and prettier, yes. More talentled? Hell no!)
Yeah huh, way. I think that Jeff took all the same chances that Tim did, only he pulled it off, took it further, where Tim sometimes sounded silly.
Barry Bonds was a much, much better ballplayer than his very-talented father, Bobby, and well on his way to the Hall of Fame, even before he started loading up on the steroids and turning himself into a cartoonish freak of a ballplayer with a giant, mellon head (allegedly). Right now, I’m calling the all-time home-run king no better than a 50-50 shot at getting into the Hall on the first ballot and maybe looking at a complete snub, because being the best player of his generation wasn’t good enough for Barry – he had to be the best player ever, no matter how much of the Cream and the Clear he had to take. At any rate, Barry was better than Bobby.
