Children's Book Question

I am trying to track down a couple of books from my childhood and was hoping you could help. The first book was a series of 2 or 3 books about child hero had a Scottish Terrier named Angus McAngus.

The second is harder to describe, but it has to do with Custer and the battle of Little Big Horn and is a picture book. It is drawn in kind of an abstract way. I actually saw it on sale at Barnes and Noble at Christmas a couple of years ago but never wrote down the title.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Derek

The first series may include Angus Lost by Marjorie Flack.

The second one, I don’t know, but this will probably end up over in Cafe Society where there are many people more knowledgable than I about children’s books.

Merry Xmas!

Guess what–the Angus books by Marjorie Flack are back in print after many years! For the second one, I would try these folks: http://www.logan.com/loganberry/stump.html

Thanks for all the responses on this - I am amazed that I received an answer so soon, unfortunately these are not the right books. So let me clarify - Angus McAngus is not the main character, the main character is a boy and his dog is named Angus McAngus.

Any new thoughts??

I am quoting again from my above reference:

The dog is Laird Angus McAngus, according to this source.

… you can find the answer to at least one of your questions in this thread you started in Cafe Society… looks like there’s still no help on the Custer question, though.

Posting the same topic in two different forums is called cross-posting and is not allowed here. Please don’t do it again. I’ll close this thread and direct further comment to the Cafe Society thread, http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=151070
