If you don’t want to play along then don’t.
China Conquers the US, do you join the armed resistance or not, and why.

The touble I think many people are having with playing this game is the premise is untenable. You’d have had better luck saying aliens have taken over. America in 2021 is not Normandy in 1944, or Japan in 1945. There is no way China or anyone can invade and take over. The logistics are impossible. If one creates a frankly impossible scenario, and yet posits that “nothing changed except the leadership”, it’s hard to viusualize.
How do we get from where we are now to Chinese rule without a massive war, death and devastation? All those gun hoarding ammo stockpiling “patriots” would be shooting any Chinese person they see (yes, many would be citizens, sadly), they’d either succeed in causing the PLA to rethink their strategy, or they’d all be dead, even assuming the US military completely rolls over (it wouldn’t). And if millions of people are dead, life wouldn’t be the same afterwards. Large parts of Idaho would be uninhabited.
No Chinese, Russian or Canadian military, nor ISIS caliphate is going to take over the US. The only way is rot from within. And the repubs seem to be trying to achieve that. And I would fight that, as noted.
For the eleventh time “i know China doesn’t have space lasers and this is a silly premise”
Am i the first to post a hypothetical situation?
America will last a 1000 years at least, no one will ever defeat us. China least of all. My OP is so silly as to not be worth commenting on.
But Republicans are plotting to overthrow democracy and you would take up arms against them?
At least i admit my OP is a silly hypothetical.
Never is a very long time.
If in the next generation or two, it would probably require a smallish nuclear exchange after which the U.S. blinks. After that, I don’t know enough about space laser possibilities to rule it out.
I don’;t see that. When China conquered Taiwan, they had the Taiwanese pay for it with taxes. And given the U…S. sky-high incarceration rate, much of the needed prison infrastructure is already in place.
This premise is an unlikely scenario. But unless one takes it more literally than I did, it it quite possible.
Colonization.
Even with a couple of our cities unlivable due to laser/atomic damage, a lot of Chinese, from lower income areas of Chiina, will still want to live in America.
No, but hypotheticals that are absurd get treated as such.
Never mind-I see the thread was moved here.
I can see politicians that are in it for the power cooperating with the new masters, Fox News bleating about far-left terrorists betraying the fairly appointed new government, and righteous militias hiding in their basements. At this point this is the new/official face of The United States of America, and the best thing to do (unless one of y’all has a damngoodplan) is to get the fuck out of Dodge, then see if revenge/retribution is possible. As Heinlein once noted, “It may be better to be a live jackal than a dead lion, but it is better still to be a live lion”.
The new government, that destroyed the while power structure, would be pro-choice (unless the choice was to have more than 3 children) and openly atheist. I don’t watch FoxNews, but I hadn’t thought that would be a natural fit for them.
Fox News doesn’t have a moral compass to follow. They will follow the power/money.
Who the fuck moved this into Thread Games???
“Strange game. The only way to win is not to play.”

Weird, isn’t it?
I ignore it for as long as possible. I’d definitely be against human rights abuses, and would bitch about said to those around me. But I’m not doing anything about it now, why would I then?
great, i wouldn’t do anything about it either. But nobody believes me.
Yeah look at China itself. The number of people brave enough to fight against a murderous regime is relatively few.
But, more than that, a lot of ppl have their own problems to worry about and are happy as long as the trains run on time. (As I’ve said before on the Dope, my day to day life in Shanghai does not feel any more or less free than in the UK.)
I think with this kind of hypothetical, it’s actually the way that the transition happens that is critical. If there’s essentially a civil war; a popular rebellion everywhere, I think I would choose the side of freedom.
But if resistance is somehow crushed and standing up just means standing alone and receiving indefinite imprisonment in the very best case, I’d probably stay seated.
Thanks for a straight forward response. I don’t know why some people can’t do that.
Just focus on the non snark responses then. Geez.
That’s why nobody believes you.
@Mods: Get this thread out of the Thread Games Forum. Any idiot can see it doesn’t belong here.
