The word “mole” comes from the Nahuatl word for sauce (“molli”). The word “guacamole” is derived from the Nahuatl words for avocado (“ahuaca”) and sauce. So yes, the words are related. I wouldn’t put chocolate in my guacamole, though.

I have never done it myself, but on a number of cooking shows, have seen dry-rubs for steak or pork made with a combo of coffee and cocoa powder. I’m quite interested in trying it sometime. Much more so than the bacon!
