Chocolate "Swizzles"

Here’s the latest on Fannie May from an article on Yahoo! News:

So, starting tomorrow, you can head on over to Oak Lawn and get your fix of Pixies, Trinidads and Mint Meltaways.

The problem with wearing gloves in food services is that so often the wearer thinks of the gloves as somehow protecting against everything so they will take cash in the gloved hand and then proceed back to the food. Working with bare hands usually doesn’t give the food handler that feeling of invulnerability.

In re Sees vs Fanny May: have lived in Illinois and now California, and SEES IS BEST.

I worked at See’s Candies, in their factory (inputting mail-orders into their computer) in Los Angeles, as a temp for about six months. I can vouch for the fact that their candy is far superior to any other mass-produced specialty candy (especially their peanut brittle). They gave free candy out to all employees with the stipulation that it could only be consumed in the lunch room during break time. I learned their coding system after about 3 weeks. Sadly, that was about 10 years ago and I am now only able to identify my three or four favorite kinds by sight alone. I do not like the ones with fruity insides. I prefer milk-chocolate covered with almonds and/or caramel or toffee. YUM!
