My brother has this and it does work surprisingly well. I’ll second the recommendation.
I love the site. They taught me how to properly smoke on my propane grill, and now I’m learning how to do so on the WSM.
I, too, prefer the charcoal flavor, but 30 minutes to set up and 45 to cool down for 10 minute of grilling means I often use the propane and wood chips for grilling. (About 60/40) I was about to get a Weber kettle and smokenator when I received the WSM, but I have a deck that can fit both. If you have a kettle, the smokenator and some good thermometers are the way to go.
