Chris Chubbock or Hubbock

I recently came across a quote posted on the internet, supposedly made by a newscaster from Florida in 1974: “And now, in keeping with Channel 40’s policy of always bringing you the latest in blood and guts, in living color, you’re about to see another first - an attempted suicide.”

This newscaster reportedly shot herself on live t.v. I’ve seen the name listed as Chris Chubbock or Hubbock. Can anyone verify if this was true, or just an urban myth?
