Hey guys, I’ve waited patiently for most of a week for the obligatory RO thread in re: the GOP’s nominee for the U.S. Senate from Delaware. Nothing has surfaced but a couple by-the-way mentions in the Stupid Republican Idea of the Day and a thread in the 2010 U.S. election forum which is discussing her seriously, as if such a thing were possible.
Where’s the unbridled yet subtle glee over the developing train wreck?
Is it because she’s too easy a target and you have standards? Is it because you don’t quite know where to begin? Is it because the SDMB management has suddenly turned TeaBagger and keeps deleting such threads?
OK. I have no standards. I know where to begin. And if the likes of Tuba Diva have turned TeaBagger, I’m moving to someplace sane like Afghanistan. Or I hear the weather is nice in Somalia.
So here’s my idea for the campaign in Delaware:
Anyone who is near Delaware at any time between now and election day should take a few hours to attend one of her campaign rallies. And publicly, blatantly take the matter in hand.
That’s right, a protest fap-in! If a thousand, just a thousand people a day fapped in at her rallies, people might think it’s a movement!
And I would certainly like to thank everyone, in advance, for coming.
Anyone else have such sane, reasoned ideas for campaigning against Ms. O’Donnell?
Um, I do, however, have objections to genitals out in pubic, er, public…
Call me a bit of a fuddy-duddy; but despite being married to a woman, I don’t like naughty bits outside or public wankery.
Perhaps something like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IRslKeT0EmQ
I think I suggested a group waving of an assortment of such devices, while engaging in a chorale singing of the tune “Every sperm is sacred” by Monty Python, in four-part harmony if possible.
Because I think doing so would totally derail her speech, turn her beet red, and completely distract any present reporters.
Shhh! It’s because we are afraid if we mock her too loudly, we will scare her away! She is like a little bird we have almost coaxed into eating out of our hand, and if you don’t shut up, she will fly away before we can crush her into a peep-peep-peeping pulp.
I want to thank the OP for this thread. I admit I have been avoiding of O’Donnell until my heart stops a’flutterin.
Sarah has been my dream Republican for what seems like forever, and she has been doing so well. And by doing well I mean tearing the Republican Party apart by the seams.
And here comes sweet, petite Christine, with even more potential, whose mere nomination in a backwater state has produced veritable shouting matches among Republican operatives on National TV.
My heart went pitter patter and it hasn’t stopped yet.
And I’ve been looking for a reason to stop masturbating…
The general drift I get is that she has been a professional candidate for quite some time now, using campaign donations to support herself even when she wasn’t actually running for anything, and occassional checks to her as a “consultant”.
It must be noted that all my sources of information on her are utterly biased and frankly sarcastic, but that I believe each and every one, with no reservations whatsoever. Except for the one about her blowing Ted Nugest backstage when he was touring in Canton, Ohio. I’ll have to see the video on that one.
Pfft! I believe it, because really, I defy anyone to show me even one girl who never blew Ted Nugent back stage.
BBC TV is playing up her witchcraft revelation fairly heavily. This must be amusing as hell for the Brits or anyone else outside the US to watch, given what a train wreck everyone already thinks American politics is. I’m curious to see what all of these right-minded fundamendalist Christians who back the Tea Baggers will make of this.
I never blew Ted Nugent backstage…but then I was never a girl…I leapt, fully formed as a 19-year old combat-boot wearing baby dyke, from Ted Kennedy’s hairdo, which, like the skull of Zeus, slid aside to release me, and I went out to lead a gay rights march.
Seriously, they will make nothing at all of it. She has repented, that’s all there is to it. If she blew Ted Nugent and repented that would be cool. If she blew Britney Spears and repented, that would be ok too, though a stint in an anti-gay reeducation camp would help.
That’s how the crazy fundamentalists operate. It’s all about lip service – and not getting caught. And tearfully repenting if you do.
Mocking a candidate is pointless. This is 2010. American politics is trench warfare; there is nothing that can happen, absolutely nothing, which will not cause partisans to dig in a little deeper. Someone will defend her, and lob a “your guy is just as bad” grenade back at you[sup]*[/sup]. It does not matter if all your policies have have brought ruin in the past, this time they will work.
The only way they can fail anymore is to admit they were wrong.
Spotting the contradiction is left as an exercise for the reader.
I’m really sure the Wicco-American community was considering backing her before this.
By and large, tho what should also irritate them is the mocking tone of the MLM- “Witches, reallly? You knew witches? Witchcraft… in this day & age???” Heck, the SDMB has respected members who are either Wiccans or some form of neo-Pagans.
Of course, in denouncing O’Donnell, the Wiccans in this story also paint with too big a brush- “Witches don’t believe in Satan… he’s a Christian deity.” Ummm no, ladies, YOUR KIND of Witches don’t believe in Satan, but that doesn’t mean ALL witches don’t… and while neo-Pagan Theology fuzzies the line between Creator & Creation, actual Christian Theology keeps in pretty distinct. Hence, Satan is NOT a deity- he’s a created being, probably of the angelic order.
Not a big C O’D fan, but the fuss over this is exactly what was predicted on The Daily Show… a way the Dems are gonna fug up what should be a sure victory.
Btw, C O’D may be a ditz but Bill Maher is a soulless piece of shit.
She is the least qualified candidate to run for a Senate that I can recall. Palin is about equally qualified, but has been falin at politics a little longer and is a more experienced failure. As much as I want the Democrats to crush her and her teabaggery, I truly wish the Republicans would stop nominating imbeciles who are pretty or can self finance. There is a real chance they can get elected and really screw things up worse. Bush II nearly gave us Great Depression II, and the recession is really bad. But it could be worse. President Palin, or President O’Donnell or President Gingrinch anyone?
