Christmas 2013: what'd you get?

I got tons of candy, including some with alcohol in it, gift cards, some lotion and shower gel and a magnetic dress-up Jesus.

Fitbit Force. Got it a week early. I love it. Keeps me walking. 10,000 steps routinely, 15,000 on many days.

I told my friend I wanted art history DVDs: either Simon Schama’s Power of Art (which I’ve seen and loved) or Private Life of a Masterpiece (which I’ve got a book of but haven’t seen).

He got me both, plus Gauguin: The Full Story, about one of my most favorite artists.

(I got him a really nice book on Caravaggio, one of *his *most favorite artists.)

Two scarfs - one from my husband and one from my daughter. A box of Godiva from my son. My Christmas bell for my tree from my parents - as well as rugs for my laundry room. My husband also got me a few pounds of tea and a pair of amethyst earrings.

And my family - my husband, parents and I are giving the kids a ski weekend up in Lutsen. My husband and I are paying for lodging, my parents are paying for the kids to ski and the adults will hang and play cards and read.

A new watch, some blu-rays (BSG, “The Right Stuff”, “Shawshank Redemption”), a Grill Caddy, and a sweet hand drawn print of this picture of Stan Musial from my MIL. Hands down the most thoughtful gift I got this year.

We got huge lot of Omaha Steak stuff and a tower of chocolate treats from some friends. We had the franks last night and they were delicious. I bought myself a beautiful estate multicolored sapphire necklace from my favorite eBay seller and the first season Downton Abbey script book.

I got Rocksmith 2014, and we’ve been playing it a lot. I gave my wife a bass guitar to use with it, and she seems to be enjoying playing it.

A new laptop, from my parents. Well, I haven’t gotten it yet, but it should arrive any day now. Woohoo!

My sister bought me a new purse, and my father bought each of us a big box of candy, like he does every year. He also got me my own coffee pot, which is great, because everyone else drinks regular and I drink decaf. My mom got me a bunch of new socks and new slippers. (I desparately needed both)
I also got a lovely new scarf from one of my cousins.
I got my sister a book she’s been wanting, and we all got my dad a new winter coat (his is ancient). Then we got my mother a flat-screen tv for the kitchen which she’s been wanting. (My father had to hide it in his office at work, because she’s a total snoop. Heehehee!)

I got kitten (who likes to hunt toes at the foot of the bed), a UPS charge-up-beforehand charger for phones & other USB devices, and a Nikon digital base which may or may not fit my lenses.
I asked for the kitten.

I gave various internet cards (for apps/books as requested) and a carte blanche day at a casino in another state without me or the boys. It was specifically asked for. :dubious:

“Why cant you be Happy for what I’m asking you for? Can’t you be Happy for me…?” oh bruddah…

…to be fair, it wouldn’t be so bad except that everything that I get asked to by friends, she has to be attached to at the hip.

The four Death-centric Terry Pratchett hardcovers from my husband. Great BBC Sherlock calendar from my daughters, as well as a copy of the One Ring that fits nicely. Awesome gel light-up ant farm from the stepdaughters. And a Tanya Pschenychny print, Lindsey Davis book, and Hobbit chibis from my parents. A great year!

I got a new computer. I gave it to myself because my old one bit the dust on Friday, December 13!
