Christmas (anime) shopping

Does anyone know of any good online anime stores? I’ve been through the main ones like anime depot, anime nation, and stuff and they dont have anything I need for my christmas shopping.

Surprisingly, CDNow usually has both sub and dub versions of the stuff I or my wife is looking for – as long as it’s in North American release, of course. For a physical shopping experience, Suncoast Video (if they have stores in your area) has a rather extensive selection and is more than happy to order obscure things.

Now, if you’re looking for fansubs of things not yet distributed in the USA, try Kodocha anime (http://www.animemetropolis.com/kodocha/). We’ve had lots of good experiences with them.

Not videos, I know where to get those (Kodocha is great, I LOVE Childs toy and the purple tapes). I’m thinking more along the lines of dolls and art books and toys. I’ve been to anime nation and stuff, the big commercial stores online, and a lot of smaller ones (such as catzia’s collecatbles and house of anime) but I just cant find what I want!

I cant spell!!

Likewise… can’t wait to see the new tape, just as soon as my wife and I decide on two other tapes to make the minimum order…

Hmm. Not sure I can help you there. We don’t do much buying of side collectables. Have you looked at Science Fictioon Continuum? They’re mainly videos, but they occasionally have that kind of stuff:

I’m not sure if it’s still the same but I think they said they’re slow so the minimum doesnt apply right now (just checked, yup! look under instructions). But a suggestion, DiGi Charat. It’s sooo funny!!

Man, you have an uphill battle in front of you. But there’s hope. Though not as much as I thought, since I seem to have lost my list of online anime shops… Grr, and to think I salvaged that stuff from Anime Expo for this exact reason…

Anyway try:
http://www.banzaianime.com - they have some models and a bunch of artbooks, but not much in the way of dolls, far as I remember.

http://www.booksnippan.com - again, more artbooks than dolls, though they have a mokona and ryo-ohki…

http://www.kawaii-anime.com - a great store, but run mostly by guys, so not much in the way of dolls.

Sorry, but these are the only ones I remember off the top of my head. The Kinokuniya book stores have a ton of artbooks, but I just go down to the store here in LA, and I’m not even sure if they have a web site in English or not. Let me know what you want, and I could have a couple friends check out a place or two back home that are awesome, but with zero web presence. Hope this helps some (I know how hard it is to find good anime-based presents). Good luck!

If you’re in the New York/New Jersey area, there’s a Kinokuniya across the street from the Rockefeller Center skating rink (face the statue dead-on, and it’s to your left). There’s also another one at the Mitsuwa shopping center in, um, I think it’s Edgewater, New Jersey, right on the Hudson.

I’m in Georgia and the main thing I’m looking for is a Chichiri UFO doll from Fushigi Yuugi, an imposible item to find I know, but I can look and hope. I’m also looking for Nuriko bracelets, anything Bt’x, Kare kano, Kenshin, digi charat, and fushigi yuugi related for presents. If you live in NJ you should find catzia’s collectibles (Midland Park, NJ http://www.catzia.com) I love that place, though I’ve never actually been there.

I’m glad someone else joined in KKBattousai!
