Christmas Shopping: Game Advice Needed

Santa’s Little Helper Dopers, I turn to you again for advice of the gaming variety. I have a teenage son who has always been very difficult to shop for. I do like to try and get him SOMETHING for Christmas, as he hasn’t too many left here at our home (I hope).

So I had three ideas. He has become a real fan of Jeopardy, so I thought it might be nice to get him something he could play at home. He has a Kindle Fire, and we have, in addition to a share PC, a WII and an XBOX (fairly new, maybe 2-3 years old, not sure the exact model). So any of those platforms might be good. When I looked online for Jeopardy games, there were several. In this case I’m looking for experience on which might be the best versions and formats.

I also thought that Trivial Pursuit might interest him, but when I looked for that it seems that the game has morphed into something different than I remember from 20-30 years ago, whenever the heck we used to play it. If there is still a version of this, it would ideally be something that could be played by a teenager.

Finally, we did play a game once called Tsuro at a friend’s house, which was simple enough for almost anyone to play and learn quickly, and had the advantage of not lasting forever. Was wondering if anyone could recommend similar or other games that might be a bit more off the beaten path?

Thanks,

Shibb
