Poll to follow.
For the third year in a row, I’ll be out of town over Christmas. On top of that, I’ll be moving about four days after I get back into town. Consequently, no Christmas tree this year.
I just put up my tree. (like, 10 minutes ago!) It is filling my house with lovely pine smells. MMMMMMMMMM
I put mine up on Black Friday. . . I found disco ball ornaments at Big Lots and decided to go a lil’ crazy. Lady Gaga Christmas!
I’m a single 24 year old. WHY WONT ANYONE MARRY ME? :(:(
I’ll marry you!
Well, okay, I’ll civil union you, but only in 11 states, or something…
Seriously, that tree is made of awesome.
Mine’s been up for a few days now. A few years ago I bought a gorgeous artificial tree with hundreds of steady white lights. I have added four strings of randomly blinking white lights and it’s gorgeous. I’m still in the process of putting on all the ornaments. I’m very anal, and it takes forever.
My female kitty always steals the little furry ornaments, and carries them around like her kittens. They eventually wind up in bed with us.
We bought ours on Sunday, and put it up in its stand yesterday (Monday). We won’t decorate it until the 23rd, though; my two older daughters will be home for Christmas on the 23rd, and my middle daughter has requested we wait to decorate the tree, so we can do it as a family.
However, in the meantime, we do get to enjoy that lovely pine scent!
P.S., I’m really glad we bought the tree when we did, instead of waiting a bit longer. The first place we went to was completely out of trees. Then, I knew of a place where I happened to know they had plenty of trees, so we went there, and found out why they still have plenty: their prices started at $50.00 (for the, like, 4’ ones) and went up to $80.00 or so for the ‘nice’ ones! Yikes. Then we hit Lowe’s, and they had one tree left! Finally, Home Depot, where even though the inventory was low, the prices were decent, and they had enough left for us to really have a selection. That’s where we got our tree.
I put mine up 30 November. As always, my tree’s theme colours are red and gold, and the bird infestation continues to grow (I think there are about 140 birds in my Christmas tree this year). I also have a Flying Spaghetti Monster front and centre! love
I think it’s been 7 years since I put up a tree. Mostly because we’re never home, and now because I have 2 cats and I’m thinking a tree would be a Bad Idea.
Love it!
We decided No Tree this year because I’m having a baby in January and the thought of taking the tree DOWN nearly gave me the vapors. So I went with “lazy” in the poll.
Now that we don’t have one, I’m a little sad about it … but then I think about the clean-up again, and feel a little better.
I guess the closest is I’m too lazy. But that *really *isn’t it. It is only me here, and I don’t see the point for just me.
But lazy is part of it, I guess: me being me, taking it down would be put off for so long, it would be in danger of being there *next *Christmas.
For the first time, I put up the tree myself, and all by myself.
You see, it’s generally not my job to do the Christmas tree, but mo was getting upset that it wasn’t already up. I was feeling better for the first time in a couple weeks, went over to the new tree Sis gave us, and thought I’d at least get started. The thing took 5 minutes, tops. And it already had lights on it–the part I normally do.
Oh, and there’s no way we’d have a real tree, due to allergies. Heck, that’s another poll waiting to happen.
I’ll be getting and decorating a tree this Saturday.
That’s full of awesome.
I didn’t vote in the poll, because there was no option for me.
I would have voted for “I’d love to put up a tree, but I live in a matchbox and I barely have room to stretch out horizontally.”
That tree needs a mirror just so it can look at itself!
Ours is up since Black Friday too. I finally convinced my wife not to decorate it with so many feathers. It used to look like some well-used roost or that we’d bought it at a D.U. rally.
We don’t have a Christmas tree. We have a nondenominational holiday shrub.
Heck no! Atheistmas trees are a huge fire hazard.
We’ve got a 3.5 ft tree this year. I put ornaments and lights on it and it is beautiful and smells fabulous. One of our cats noms it like it is a cure for cancer and the other avoids it as though he is afraid it will eat him in the night. So far neither of them have removed the ornaments and tossed them around the apartment or anything. I like having the tree up but our apartment is a wee bit small and I can’t imagine having a full sized tree in there.
Something I read in a non-fiction book once (written by a funny guy) was: “Our apartment was so small that if we bought celery, we had to stand it upright so it wouldn’t be out the window”.
God I hate Christmas
