Have you put up the tree and decorated for Christmas?

We put up the tree this weekend after Thanksgiving. That’s our traditional schedule. Our kids were visiting and it was a lot of fun.

The lights are on tonight. Tree looks nice from the street.

I don’t decorate outside anymore. We haven’t since the kids left for college.

Have you put up the tree and decorated for Christmas?

It doesn’t have to be anything elaborate. Whatever you use to decorate & for Christmas.

I suggest posting after you do. I’m curious how many people wait until closer to Dec 25.

I have the outside lights up. The new tree is up but we won’t be decorating until later in the week.

I used to put up a lighted Santa on the porch. I’m concerned he might disappear. The neighborhood isn’t what it used to be.

Santa will be on the back deck this year. I’ll light him up when we barbecue steaks during the kids visit. They’ll be back after exams.

I put out one of those table top fiber optic trees with a lighted color wheel in the base.

Hey, single with no kids. Not gonna do much more than that.

We don’t decorate. We also use the royal “we” in polls.

I always put up my tree the day after Thanksgiving - and I even have an annual YouTube video of it.

My tree is up. It’s prelit. I have to let the Siamese get used to it a day or 2 before i hang ornaments.

Don, I really like your Christmas tree video. Thank you for posting.

Great choice of music.

Yes, we put it up yesterday (Sunday). It’s just a 4 foot plastic one, but the decorations are nice. My daughter is almost three and she could recognize what it was - “a Christmas tree” and “it’s awesome!” She helped put on the bells - in the bell section of the tree (lower right hand side) of course. That’s where the bells belong apparently.

I haven’t decorated in the last few years due to moving one year, then kittens last year. I have the urge to do so this year, but I don’t think it will happen. Lack of a job has caused me to put off some remodeling plans that would have resulted in a decent place to put the tree. Plus, I have two younger cats who are just downright dangerous (but very entertaining). Next year. I shall focus on next year.

Up until last year we cut our own live tree and so we would wait until the second week of December to get it and put it up. Last year, however, we spent 4 days or so across New Year’s at the coast, so we bought a fake one so we wouldn’t have to worry about it while we were gone.

This year the fake tree went back up today. It’s pre-lit with white lights but we added some colored lights as well, so it looks really nice. We’ll finish putting all the ornaments on it tomorrow. We also got some garland strung up. We need to get another wreath for the door, that’ll happen next weekend.

We’ve never decorated outside. We’ve talked about it a few times but just never made the plunge.

So we have maybe 70% of the decorating done.

Had to vote other. I’m at my mom’s and we’ve done it here. I live in a 520 sq ft apartment and thus don’t really decorate. I’m sure my apartment building has decorated.

Went and chopped down a tree on Saturday. It’s fully decorated now.

I had to vote other. In my family we rotate spending Christmas at my parents’ house, my sister’s place, and my house. I only bother putting up a tree when we’re having Christmas at my house. Since we’re visiting my sister this year I’m not putting up a tree. But I can’t really say “I don’t decorate”, because I’ll usually at least put a wreath on the door or something, but I haven’t done that yet.

I don’t put up a tree since I am single and I am currently not dating anyone so there will not be anyone over. My roommate basically spends about 7-9 hours playing video games so it is not like he would notice.
My brother got his up by Thanksgiving day since one of his daughters came for Thanksgiving.

Yes. Tree and stockings go up and the advent calendars are put out on the 1st (yesterday). That’s all the decorating we do.

I have the Lego Harry Potter calendar this year, to switch up from my regular Star Wars one.

Our tree is up all year. We plugged it in yesterday. The cat likes to lie beneath it, mesmerized by the lights. Then she comes out and leaps up to snatch the little teddy bear decoration from high on the tree, and carries it around the house like it’s her kitten. She does this every year and somehow never disturbs the tree.

The menorah will be lit the first night of Hanukkah.

Our plastic Christmas tree that served us for a few years in Shanghai, is now lit up on our 9th xmas in the US. Twins set it up today

On my desk at work I have a tree that consists of two slotted cutouts of a tree fitted together to make an 8 inch high “tree.” It is there all year so that my workmates and I don’t have to participate in any efforts to encourage us to decorate our work area at any time of year. It has a piece of tinsel stuck to it.

It is my sole concession to Christmas as I have no decorations at home.

I was going to decorate December 1, but I was still recovering from working retail in this season and having a really bad night’s sleep, so I’ll probably do it today.

The tree is artificial and small. The windows get winter decal-clings and a tinsel garland. The menorah goes in the kitchen window except when it’s lit as I don’t want to set the blinds on fire.
