Last week, I missed that the game that caused a riot at the Buy More was called “Spy Attack”. They certainly could have done more to play up that angle. It looks like this week, we’ll see another returning character:

Chuck and Sarah work through relationship questions as they join Awesome and Ellie on a getaway where they find themselves in the center of a coup.
Armand Assante really makes for a delightfully demented dictator. Captain Awesome’s statue was pretty awesome. Too bad about the head, all for what amounted to a marital spat.
I liked this one, it had a lot of character moments that made me smile. Armand Assante’s accent is indecipherable, but he was charming and a lot less intimidating than his last appearance, which made me like him a lot.
The Toyota minivan product placement was a little forced, though.
I think this series delights in cheerfully non-subtle product placement.
I will say, though - I know this is a cartoon, but did anyone else kind of wince when Ellie and Awesome accepted a holiday vacation from a fairly unpleasant dictator without reservation? And then the CIA restores that dictator to power? (That last bit was particularly on-the-nose, I thought).
After Chuck saved the day by marriage-counseling the dictator and his wife, I said to Mrs. Wheelz, “That was pretty silly, even for this show.”
She replied, “I think this one was for all the women fans.”
And I had to agree. This season is definitely straying into rom-com territory, a trend which I hope does not continue.
Though, the scene with Sarah trying on bathing suits was more than enough for me to give this particular episode a thumbs-up!
In the last Costa Gravas episode, from Awesome and Ellie’s point of view he was an effusive but ultimately nice man. It was only from the NSA’s side that we had any inkling he’d be dangerous. And as it turns out, he wasn’t dangerous and is ultimately a friendly guy.
Seemed weird to have that type of book signing at a [del]Best Buy[/del] Buy More. It’s not quite as bad as when the hardware store on Reaper started being treated more as a Walmart where you could get pretty much anything, but they need to watch stuff like that.
And does Sarah even have a cover job anymore? We haven’t seen the Orange Orange all season,
Actually, I wish they’d bring the place she “worked at” from season 1 back, that outfit was great.
I don’t think the Orange Orange survived the explosion of the Buy More, plus it and the Wienerlicious were part of Sarah’s cover as Chuck’s Handler, so she could keep an eye on him, but she hasn’t been that since the beginning of season 3.
Although I am enjoying the new season, and I do enjoy the Chuck and Sarah interaction, I’d like to see an episode where he wasn’t so bloody whiny. They all seem to be a bit too angsty, actually. I want more action, damnit!
This season is probably going to end with Ellie going into labour. I really, really hope it’s not a TV labour where she waddles around puffing, Devon says ‘remember our Lamaze classes!’ and three hours later he brings out a swaddling child who looks about six weeks old.
Then Chuck and Sarah gaze through glass at a field of newborns and Chuck laments that, sadly, due to his and Sarah’s recent break-up (inevitable), they’ll never have kids together. Cut to Sarah gazing wistfully and massaging her belly.
Angst is for fanfic; I want more kick-ass humour.
Hmm, perhaps I’m not actually enjoying this season so much after all. I am very willing to, however.
I still think she should have a cover, though. Casey still has the Buy More cover, granted the Buy More is full of CIA now. Sarah in a Nerd Herd outfit maybe?
