Chuckles the parrot and his aching beak

My mother’s friend, Frank, has a handsome parrot named Chuckles who is more articulate than many humans I know. A few days ago, Frank was trimming Chuckles’ beak and accidently cut him rather badly. He rushed him to the vet and poor Chuckles had to go into surgery.

Having a bleeding, painful beak wouldn’t put anyone in the best mood, and Chuckles was quite upset. According to Frank, he snarled, “I’m gonna beat your @ss!” when the vet tried to touch him, and then started screaming for Frank: “Bubba! Come get me, bubba!”

Anyway, Chuckles is home now and should be fine, though he’s in a terribly black mood. He hasn’t forgiven Frank for the incident and cusses him whenever he comes in the room. So I’d like to ask the Dopers to send positive thoughts Chuckles’ way in his time of need. Thank you.

I’m sorry, I WOULD, but I’m laughing too hard. Not at all nice, I know, but a parrot threatening a vet and then screaming for his Bubba to save him is just too much. Of course my Siamese cat has run to me and tattled on my husband, but she can’t speak English. So yeah, I can sympathize. When I can stop laughing, that is.

If I didn’t have cats, I’d sure like to have a smart bird. They’re lots of fun. And Chuckles sounds like he’s pretty smart.

Still snickering,
Lynn

laughs Oh, poor Chuckles. Good thoughts are being sent his way. Out of interest, what was the vet’s reaction to being sworn at?

I do love a bird with attitude.

Give Chuckles an almond when he feels up to it. From me.

Had a Chicken w/half a beak once…named Scrubb
obviously, not as refinded as Sir Chuckles
Scubb Loved snails…Escargot,to the reverent Sir Chuckles.
Maybe there’s a Playboy sort of Parrot Book where you could
show him Photo’s of sexy Plumaged Parrots,Blow his mind alittle.

Had a blue fronted amazon with an attitude. When he was pissed off, he’d mutter “asshole” and when you’d turn and ask him what he’d said, he would fluff his feathers and give you a dirty old man “heh-heh-heh” laugh.

Chuckles sounds way cool. Good wishes to the birdy.

Poor guy. I like the attitude, though. How’d he know WHEN to threaten the vet, I wonder?
