Wow do I suddenly feel dumb.
There’s a Washington in north-east England, but it’s a town. York itself is an English city, of course, and there is a county of Hampshire.
There used to be an Ohio City, Ohio, but it was subsumed into Cleveland long ago, and is now just a neighborhood (albeit a neighborhood with a bit stronger identity than most neighborhoods in the city).
Mt Washington, the mountain, is in the town of Sargent’s Purchase, NH. There is a town called Mount Washington in the south east corner of Massachusetts.
Okay. . . .
Let me see if I have this straight. You folks have listed a whole bunch of towns and small cities. And yet somehow–I have no idea how–you’ve managed to overlook the 42nd largest city in the entire nation, with a 2010 Census population of 416,000 people – Colorado Springs, CO.
