I’m wondering if there’s any information out there about how many cases of CJD in humans there might be in the US…
This CDC site: http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/diseases/cjd/bse_cjd.htm seems to say there was one case reported in the US between 1995 and 2002…
While this other CDC site: http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/diseases/cjd/bse_cjd_qa.htm says the death rate from CJD is about 1 in 1,000,000, which would make a little less than 300 cases in the US.
Am I misreading? What’s going on?
