I’ve been reading about the “Claire Swire letter” circulating around the net, and now I’m curious, what is IN that letter? I’ve searched all over the net, and I can’t find a copy. Someone help me out, I gotta see it.

Whoah, easy there ChasE! No need for the swipe! I’m a Brit and I don’t think we’re starved for entertainment. That would be like judging all of your entertainment output by one bad episode (sorry for the tautology) of ‘Jerry Springer’. Admittedly, some of my countrymen do apply such yardsticks, chiefly because they don’t know any better and they enjoy feeling smugly superior about America. More fool them. Being something of an Americophile, I roast them pretty hard when they do this.
I doubt the Swire letter enjoyed an unusually high circulation compared with any other equivalent email funny. It’s just that the papers got hold of it on a slow news day, and the rest is… the rest.
