I’ve seen the combat vespa on other web sites. From what I’ve read, it was made by the french military shortly after world war II. It was made really cheap, basically by strapping a WWII surplus 75mm recoilless cannon (essentially free, since it was surplus) to an el-cheapo vespa. Only a few hundred were made, but apparently they did see some action in the 1950’s.
If you google “vespa recoilless” you’ll find lots more pics and info, and some cute web pages with names like “Is that a cannon in your vespa or are you just happy to see me?” and “talk about a crotch rocket!”
