"Classy" Freddy Blassie Dead at 85

From the 411Mania Wrestling News Desk

I only remember Freddy Blassie as a legend, one of those few who made it possible for people like Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage to have a career. He has been wheel-chair stricken for many years, and my fondest memory is of him rallying WWF troops (during the “InVasion” storyline) and standing tall.

I can only hope he is enjoying his time, teaching various religious figures headlocks and calling the PTBs “Pencil-Necked Geeks”.

This is me: Sad again.

I’d though Blassie was dead already, but then, I always think that about famous old people I haven’t heard about recently.

I marked out for his last Raw appearence. :frowning:
Rest in Peace, Blassie.

Any word on the health of the Grand Wizard of Wrestling?

He’s gone to that ‘Squared Circle’ in the sky!!

Wow, that brings back memories! When I was young, our family gathered around and watched wrestling every saturday. I’m afraid that my brother still thinks it is real…

The Grand Wizard/Abdullah Farouk (real name Ernie Roth) died quite some time ago.

As wrestling announcer Dick Lane used to say, “Whoa Nellie.”

Breakfast just won’t be the same without him.

Rest In Peace.
