My son’s HP Pavillion ZX 5000 laptop shuts down suddenly every few minutes. It is essentially worthless. Since it is so old, I decided to try to clean out the heat sink and insides myself, but am having trouble finding a website that describes how to get to the innerds. Can anyone help me out here?
Thank you very very much for that link. I thought I was going to have to take the whole damn thing apart. The manual with specific instructions shows exactly how to do it with minimal invasion of the laptop itself. I know you saved me totally destroying the machine. I am good at taking things apart, not so good at putting them back together.
Appology to the teeming masses for neglecting to note that the above link is a PDF file.
Glad to be of help daurbach. HP’s is among the more useful of support sites…enough that I’ve never called them on the phone.
