Does Windex damage the screen on your computer monitor? I know you’re not supposed to spray cleaner directly on it, but I have many coworkers that go into seizure when I clean my monitor with it. They say it damages the glass, even if you spray a little on the towel and wipe it down. Can this be true?
Pardon my newness if this has been brought up before (I didn’t find it in the search engine).
This is the way things are going to be, unless it isn’t.
I cannot imagine why it would cause any damage provided it does not drip inside. but if you use a slightly moist cloth I think it would be ok. at least this is what I have been doing for the last few decades with no bad consequences.
be aware that you do not need to get the liquid directly on the electronics. Even vapors could be harmful but you would have to be using way too much.
I don’t have a bottle of windex around to read what it says on it. But Im sure it would have some instructions on what to clean with it. When in doubt, read the instructions.
Better yet, read the care instructions that came with the monitor. There are several different coatings that could be on your monitor screen which could be damaged by windex or even alcohol.
Sometimes, though, the instructions will err on the side of caution, so if you REALLY want to know how to do it, go to the headquarters of the company that made the monitor and touch everybody’s screens and see what happens.
If he lived in a warm climate, he would have the non-water-soluble-bugs-at-80mph all over his windshield. I don’t know why, but they don’t ever come off with water. I think it’s the protiens in them or something. Perhaps bugs are made of glue, I dunno.
