Hi we just had a ton of rain and now there is a clear gelatin like substance on the ground around my house mainly in areas where I just planted new trees. Anyone have any I dea what this might be??
Were the trees in soil before you put them in the ground? It’s possible they were potted with super-absorbent crystals to regulate their moisture level. When it rained, the crystals absorbed the rainwater, they swelled (and they look like blobs of clear gelatin.)
Polyacrylamide is gaining popularity as a soil amendment. That’ll look like gelation if there’s a lot on the surface after it rains.
