Clearing Google search history.

Can it be done? If so, how? It’s really annoying to start typing something and have a scroll list divert my attention. I’m not that good a typist.

Tools/Internet Options/Clear History works for me.

I lied.

Try the last suggestion in that link. That definately works.

Too,s/Internet Options/Content/Auto Complete/Clear Forms.

In case you don’t want to clear everything, just google,

  1. click once in the text entry box, that should make the full scroll list show up.
  2. now, without clicking, move your mouse pointer down so that it highlights somewhere in the middle of the list - DO NOT CLICK!
  3. start hitting the delete button.
you may have to repeat 1 & 2 - but eventually, you’ll get rid of the list.

If you don’t need it, turn it off.

Tools, Internet options, advanced, uncheck “use inline autocomplete”.

Download the free Microsoft SpyWare Beta as it is not only the best spyware eliminator, it includes Tracks Eraser which will erase any bit of history you like including Google searchs.

Related question (I hope): How do I get IE to un-remember passwords that it has remembered for me? Can I get rid of just one or two of the remembered passwords or do I have to dump the whole lot?

Thanks

It’s another option in the software I posted above. Honest it does everything.
