Can it be done? If so, how? It’s really annoying to start typing something and have a scroll list divert my attention. I’m not that good a typist.
Tools/Internet Options/Clear History works for me.

In case you don’t want to clear everything, just google,
- click once in the text entry box, that should make the full scroll list show up.
- now, without clicking, move your mouse pointer down so that it highlights somewhere in the middle of the list - DO NOT CLICK!
- start hitting the delete button.
you may have to repeat 1 & 2 - but eventually, you’ll get rid of the list.
If you don’t need it, turn it off.
Tools, Internet options, advanced, uncheck “use inline autocomplete”.
