That is correct.
Right. Alaska is the only US state that lies (partially) in the Eastern Hemisphere. Semisopochnoi Island, one of the Aleutians, is the easternmost point in the US (by longitude).
No takers? The only King to be crowned in Westminster Abbey? Anyone? Bueller? Anyone?
Bruce Lee’s last movie: Game of Death.
I had to look up the title, but I knew the outline of the answer.
Crap. I really wanna know this one. JFK?
(Wanna PM me if you don’t wanna spoil the answer for the thread?)
:smack: As I read the tail end of the thread… that’s what I get for being over-eager.
Though I do like my Jayne Mansfield answer.
Guess - Plan 9 From Outer Space?
I am guessing there is a trick to this one because according to Westminster Abbey all of the British Crowns have had their coronations there for centuries.
From Wikipedia:
“Since the coronations in 1066 of both King Harold and William the Conqueror, all English and British monarchs (except Edward V and Edward VIII, who did not have coronations) have been crowned in the Abbey.”
I really just wanted to refresh the thread cause while I don’t know any answers I love trivia questions.
Adhemar
Correct.
adhemar: You are quite right: it is a trick question. (Hint: Look carefully at the phrasing of my question and notice that I didn’t ask, “How many men were crowned King?”)
Since we know it’s a trick question, I’m gonna take a shot with Elvis Presley.
If we’re moving to geography:
What’s the smallest country that has a land border with more than one other country? More than two other countries?
James I. Because he was already King James VI of Scotland when he was crowned in Westminster Abbey.
I would guess Lichtenstein for both of these.
ETA: no, wait, the first one could be Andorra. I stand by my first answer for the second question :).
What’s the smallest country that has a land border with more than one other country? More than two other countries?
Answer:It’s Liechtenstein (bordered by Austria and Switzerland) and Luxembourg (bordered by Belgium, France, and Germany). Andorra is bordered by France and Spain but it’s larger than Liechtenstein.
Another geography one. What country is bordered by the most countries that are larger than it is?
What was the original color of Mickey Mouse’s shorts?
P.S. I should note that my question does tie in with all the Academy Awards questions being bandied about.
White? I didn’t actually check but the only alternative would have been black, right? And then it wouldn’t have been apparent he was wearing pants at all. And Disney didn’t go the full frontal route until Donald Duck.
Nope … this wasn’t B&W but actual color.
King James VI of Scotland is correct.
Anna Leonowens (Anna of “The King and I,” etc., etc. etc.) had a famous great-nephew. Who was he?
I’ll take a stab at Tajikstan, with 4.
