Again, your ponderings relate to processes that changed climate during millions of years, human activity is overtaking the natural factors, if it was just nature, the earth would be cooling a bit now.
Dude! Have you ever read up on the TIP theory? Its hard to find online anymore because the lizard people are suppressing it, but remember that the earth’s poles have reversed several times. The reason for this is that the earth gets out of balance and when the ice cap melts or gets bigger, it changes the way the earth rotates. (Imagine spinning a cue ball while dropping glue on the top. Its going to start wobbling from the uneven weight.)
The reason this is hidden is because the earth is wobbling now. Think back to the cue ball, what happens when the weight is too much for the spin to overcome? Its going to TIP over and the pole (were you were dropping the glue) will become the equator. Because the wobble is getting worse, the lizard people are hiding the danger from their chattel.
Its like an atomic bomb, there is nowhere to run. Might as well smoke the high grade shit now because if you save it for later, it might just go up in smoke.

So why does the Earth have a circular orbit like the rest of the planets in the solar system instead of a more elongated orbit one would expect from an object that came from outside the solar system? It didn’t just apply the breaks once it past Mars.

Not only does it have a circular orbit, it also orbits on the same plane as all the other planets. I guess it conveniently entered the solar system at exactly the right angle. Awfully decent of it, it makes all of our grade school science project models so much easier.
