Clinton v Trump - The Stretch Run Thread

Just musing…

What percent of congruence would y’all say exists between the set of Obama haters and the set of Hillary haters?

One hundred percent? Or are there some who hate him but not her and vice versa?

Julian Assange is an unhinged, self-serving, megalomaniac with an admitted desire to derail the Clinton campaign. I don’t see any reason to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Lindsay Lohan has a classy response to Trump and Stern’s comments about her.

Marlee Matlin’s response to the reports of Trump calling her retarded.

I’ve been wondering this too.

And I never realized it’s the hate of having a woman in charge. But considering the assholes that support Trump, I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised. WILL women that are married to these goons say, Umm… no, and pull the other lever once in the voting both? They could.

This may be a bad thing about mail in ballots. “Hey, lets fill these things out and both vote for Trump”.

After Montel Williams criticized Trump for his sexual proclivities, Scottie Nell Williams threatened to smear him with his own sexual secrets if he didn’t back off. But Montel would have none of it. He absolutely destroyed her on Twitter.

New Jersey? Did you link to the wrong story? :dubious:

Whoops. Kansas.

Meh. Maybe even more likely the other way round.

In that story, Williams claimed he had information that would be very damaging to Trump. He warned Trump’s surrogates to back off, or he would make the information public. Montel, dude, you’ve been vocally criticizing Trump, even calling him a pedophile. If you have such damaging information, what are you waiting for? Release the hounds now while it might do some good!

Trump walked into a dressing room where contestants for a teenage beauty contest were dressing. Contestants as young as 15.

Yeah, I know. My post wasn’t very clear. I meant, Williams seems to think his info is *more *damaging than what’s come out so far. If, after all that’s come out, Williams knows something that can take Trump down yet another peg, I want him to lay it on us. Don’t hide your light under a bushel, man!

Y’know, sometimes I find myself actually nostalgic for the Cold War.

Trump’s humility and sense of historic proportionality have always been among his most appealing character traits.

Who skipped bail after promising a British court he wouldn’t.

Why are people refusing to call this what it is which is radical Caucasian terrorism? Why do white people refuse to utter those words?

Sure, some of them are just racists and not sexists.

Oh and Trump’s comment to Stern about taking advantage of a deeply troubled teen (talking about Linsday Lohan when she had just turned 18) is a whole another level of scummy. That takes him from creepy pervy rich older man to straight out “living in a van by the river” sex offender territory.

Ah, Crimea River!

No.

Just kidding. It’s a political ad called The Good Ole Days made by Mother Jones that highlights Trump’s racism.

clap clap.

Something just occurred to me: I’ve seen several times the fear that someone who wants the same things Trump wants, but smarter, smoother, and more subtle, will come along and grab up his supporters.

What I wonder is, how many of them would such a candidate get? I think that for many Trump voters, Trump’s brazenness and forthrightness about his horrible viewpoints is a key draw, so anyone who tries to use lower key dog whistles might come across as too politician-like and phony to them. Sure, this person could make up for it in attracting followers and allies who like the subtlety, but I can’t help wondering if that would be equal to the hardcore support Trump currently gets.

Hmmm.

It looks like people are beginning to call the Trump goons’ bluffs. This is only going to embolden more to come out, and I’m guessing there’s a 95% chance that there are not just one or two more, but many, many more. The floodgates are about to open, I believe.

That’s why if I were the Trump children, I would be looking for a way out of the race pronto. It’s entirely possible that more allegations will come out but you minimize the risk of lawsuits by leaving and lowering the profile. The danger to the Trump exchequer is that, in all likelihood, there are some legally actionable claims that could be filed in civil court. If women start coming forward with incidents that happened a few years ago, he and his companies will never, ever see the end of this litigation. They’d be bankrupt, and this time, there would be comeback.

The same is true for republicans. I think the GOP donors are right to apply the pressure to the RNC to get away from Trump - he’s merely toxic now but he’s about to become full-on Chernobyl radioactive. The sexual assault claims are damaging enough - this lowers his standing among most well-adjusted people in its own right. But the election and post-election aftermath are what could seriously kill the republican party forever. Right now it’s largely democrats who are sounding the sirens of Trump but if the country as a whole sees images of Trump’s supporters engaging in violence and potentially sowing the seeds of violent unrest, those images will be seared into the minds of a majority of Americans for years to come.

I think trump might have been right about something, for once:

Our campaign represents a true existential threat like they haven’t seen before.
