Clinton v Trump - The Stretch Run Thread

Another one. Says that Trump grabbed her and went for a kiss, and grew angry with her as she twisted away – prompting him to bark “oh, come on” at her, and hold her firmly in place, and plant his lips on hers.

It’s all about the tax returns. He’ll use any diversion to avoid releasing them because he doesn’t want people to find out, as Hillary proclaimed, that he’s not as rich or as charitable as he claims, and that he hasn’t paid any federal tax in twenty some years.

And it’s not just the strangers who stop short. Daughter Tiffany doesn’t seem all that impressed either.

I suspect we’re going to hear more and more in the closing weeks about what a horrendous racist and anti-semite Trump (probably) is.

I’m surprised that the Trump camp hasn’t pulled the old Karl Rove switcheroo that worked so well on Dan Rather — pay somebody to accuse him at a time and place where he has an ironclad alibi, and wait for the bloggers to “discover” that it’s a lie.

I know better than to write off Trump completely and because I’m superstitious, I won’t just yet. But increasingly the odds of a Trump comeback, while not impossible, are extremely slim. The scandals are starting to pile the dirt on candidate Trump’s grave.

As this realization starts to settle in on his deplorables, I think they will become the story. They really do by into this notion that their messiah’s going to win the election and if he doesn’t that it’s because the game is rigged. The deplorables could soon become the story.

I don’t think that Donald Trump will destroy the republican party. He hasn’t yet, and he won’t. But the deplorables probably will. Republicans have invested in a fringe. This fringe is setting their high rise on fire and they’re locking the exit doors.

Me too.

Surprised he hasn’t demanded lie-detector tests. Although doing that would monkey wrench an attempt to plant a fake.

I don’t actually trust lie detectors, anyway, so…wouldn’t make much difference to me.

At this point the only questions left are if we can take the senate (probably?) and house (unlikely, not impossible).

And how many people will die in the conflicts Trump attempts to spark when he loses.

The number of people currently planning on voting for Trump who would be convinced to not vote for trump because they found out that he has dropped the N bomb in his life is likely somewhere around 4.

No reason to resort to lie-detector woo when it is quite clear that the man things that sexual assault is “normal” when you have men and women together.

Pre-election tweet.

Actual violent conflicts will be against the law. Let’s see how much Trump’s extremists respect Law Enforcement Officers.

Trump’s best 4-week period are when he was trying to be a little less 'deplorable, probably from mid-August to mid-September. He was able to convince some of the more quadrennial republican loyalists to join the Trump train. I’m sure that some have jumped off because of the assault allegations but if we can pile on and convince the more decent republicans who remain that a vote for Trump is a vote for racial division, that could help. Moreover, it could motivate Hillary Clinton’s supporters that this man just has to be stopped.

If the last 50 years of Republican politics has shown us anything it is that not only are Republicans okay with racists in their midst, it is that Republicans need the racists to win.

Nine women have come forward with tales of unwanted grabbing and kissing. Apparently, such assault, were it brought to trial, could result in jail time and fines. This website says the minimum sentence for sexual assault is about one year in prison.
I wondered, if being convicted would make Trump ineligible for President? But no, Quora says that, oddly, having a criminal record is no barrier to running for, or being, POTUS.

Quite a lot of politicians have been convicted of crimes. The list does not say if they got fired from their position after being convicted, or if they just got ( temporarily) demoted.
So, even if either the Trump University case or the sexual assault cases would lead to a prison sentence, that would not technically bar Trump from the Presidency.

I have noticed, that in the lower rungs of society, having spent time in prison is quite… normal. Not something to get judged for. My cleaning lady, for instance. Both her boyfriend and her son-in-law have spent several days in jail because of minor crimes in conbination with not being able to pay speeding tickets.

Cliven Bundy’s clan seem to be sterotypical Trump supporters. They don’t respect LEO’s at all.

These beautiesare in Trump’s basket of deplorables. They don’t have much respect for the law either.

Why would you link the same article I was complaining about?

There are no pictures at that link of any gun-carrying protestors.

That isn’t far off from [what he said today:

](http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/U/US_CAMPAIGN_2016?SITE=AP&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT&CTIME=2016-10-15-18-21-32)He clearly doesn’t understand what the word “rig” means or what a “fix” is. Influencing the election isn’t rigging the election, Mr. Trump.

My quick googling failed to find it, but today I saw video footage of an interview with one of the men involved… (or voice over of a still shot?) on CNN or MSNBC… I wasnt paying too close attention (post nap:smack:)
