The Atlantic, for only the third time in their history since 1860, has endorsed a candidate for president. Anyone want to guess who they endorsed? No fair clicking the link first!
OK, here’s a small hint:

The Atlantic endorsed Donald Trump?!?
There goes the lamestream media again. He can read.
Cite?
Retracted.
Ohio is now the lightest of blues. Come on Iowa!
Come Sunday, I’ll be vacationing at the home of my very conservative sister and BIL - in FLORIDA! How crappy of a houseguest would I be if I asked them to turn on the debate?!
I don’t know, but first you should make sure that your rental car is sleepable.
I’d be more concerned with them having any power to watch TV in the first place, what with the major hurricane and all. Politics taking a back seat to real life in this case.
Playground Bully - an anti-Trump ad. Kinda funny, kinda sad.
"Trump threatens to sue over ‘nasty’ campaign ads
…
They’re spending hundreds of millions of dollars on false commercials, and it’s a disgrace. So what we’ll do, I guess we’ll sue them. Let’s sue them."

Like he said, we’re going to whine so much you’ll get sick and tired of whining

Crybaby Trump. The Billion Dollar Loser.
Ummmm… anyone remember when Hillary fell down ill about a month ago?
This race was never close. Even Trump’s post-convention bump hardly did him any good. Hillary wasn’t seeing any trouble until she fell. Then the polls went crazy for a few weeks but now that we’re through the first debate she’s back up to where she had been before the fall.
Hillary’s “problem with the polls” is that she caught pneumonia and fell down.
Now that that nonsense is in the rear view mirror, she’s doing fine.
Nobody’s going to believe this. It may be factually true and relevant and utterly correct in every sense, but people apparently need to believe that we came within a gnat’s whisker of electing Trump and so that’s what they’ll believe from now until the end of time.
I fully expect people (Dopers) to “correct” me about it, just as I’ve been “corrected” about the concept of expected value.
You shouldn’t retract. He can read a tweet. More words than that? Not sure.
Or the way I phrase it, he activated the alt-right. It’s a new Southern Strategy. The alt-right generally was too much into conspiracies and thinking both parties were equally evil. But they’ve fully endorsed Trump.
You have about 25% of the Religious Right. Then at most 10% true conservatives. But Trump then activates the alt-right, since there’s no one else to use.
Problem is, the alt-right is a diminishing group. Sure, the edgelords are out there, who make it easier for alt-right supporters to hide (when before decency kept them from being able to state their views.)
They’re bold. They’re loud. But they aren’t the boogeyman people think. Their entire strategy is to appear bigger than they are.
For me, it started out cute, and by the end I was in tears. Surprisingly effective.
For someone who is so proud of being not politically correct, he sounds like he wants a safe place.
BigT, I gotta ask – what the heck is an “edgelord”? Did I skip that chapter of Return of the King?
Got it. Someone who “tries too hard too hard to be edgy.”
