Clinton v Trump - The Stretch Run Thread

Lewandowski goes on the defensive in the most ill thought out and hilarious way possible.

I don’t think Trump can back out. the election is a month away, and the ballots are printed. For another Republican to win, it would have to be a write in campaign. Trump could win and resign, but that’s looking less and less likely the more that comes out on Trump.

Like Lorena Bobbitt, perhaps?

I think the reason this was released now was to goad Trump into bringing up Bill’s indiscretions.

Melania is a Stepford wife. She will do nothing but smile and look pretty, or Trump will send her back to Slovenia so fast her head will spin.

Suddenly those accusations of Trump raping a 13-year-old don’t sound so farfetched, do they?

At this point even if Trump dropped dead it’s too late to get his name off the ballots.

The deadlines for parties to certify the names of their presidential candidates and electors are long gone, the latest being in mid-September. Trump’s name will head the ballots in each state no matter what happens, even if he resigns. And there is no way the party can force him to do that.

Statement from Reince Priebus read on CNN:

Wow. That’s taking a stand. : Old rolleyes:

Maybe Assange believes that he’ll fire up the Bernie Bros with the latest dump but I think the hardest of hardcore Bernie or Busters already made up their minds. The better adjusted among them will either vote Clinton, or at worst go third party or not vote. I think the cake is getting kinda baked for both candidates now. An Assange dump that actually does have something juicy in it could lower Hillary’s favorability a bit but it’s most likely too late to help Trump.

Did he add, “and that’s why I’m withdrawing my support for Mr. Trump?” Somehow I doubt it.

Trump can be dismissed as a extreme buffoon and ass. But how do we explain those who support him knowing he’s a disaster?

My thoughts:

-Nobody should talk this way about women
-Nevertheless, I am fairly sure that many men do talk this way when they are not in mixed company
-I would bet Bill Clinton* has* said thing that are this bad or nearly this bad in private
-President LBJ most definitely said things this bad or worse to reporters (although times were different then
-However, Trump has defended his crude talk (on Howard Stern, for example) by saying it was all an image for publicity and this shows that he also thinks that way in private
-I could almost forgive him this if he had made a sincere apology and if he wasn’t already married at this time
-Billy Bush is also a pig
-Trump supporters won’t care
-Time for another “think of the chilluns/womenfolk” ad from the Clinton camp

The next Clinton ad will just be this entire tape, subtitled (with p**** and the like for the vulgarities), followed by “I’m Hillary Clinton and I approve this message”.

With old white ladies watching a TV.

The most shocking part of that video is that Trump admits he failed at something.

I don’t think so. Certainly they don’t say they have successfully groped women. Most men wouldn’t do that, and if they did try, wouldn’t get away with it.

True. If he was a candidate with good experience, temperament, policies, and judgment, I would be disappointed with this behavior, but would still vote for him.

Given who he is and what he pretends to want to do, I wouldn’t vote for him if a hot mic revealed him saying kind things about puppies and babies.

Remember that people’s votes are NOT for a candidate. They are for electors PLEDGED to a candidate. If there were a movement to have electors vote for, say, Peewee Herman instead of Donald Trump, then it is reasonable to think that Peewee has a chance.

Some states have laws that purport to require electors to cast their vote for their pledged candidate, and punishing “faithless electors” who may cast the ballot that actually counts for someone else. I’m of the opinion that such laws are unconstitutional.

But who knows, maybe this is the beginning of the end of the electoral college.

By the way, isn’t everyone thinking, “Why didn’t the Republican primary invoked EXTREME VETTING to make sure something like this didn’t happen?”

You mean like Jill Harth? I predict her name is brought up by Clinton at the town hall.

Oh…poor, poor Paul Ryan.

Do you think he’s still going to campaign with Trump in Wisconsin this weekend?

The two of them could wander around the fairgrounds, grabbing pussies.

I’m looking forward to ‘they’re a Presidential candidate you could share a beer with!’ being replaced with ‘they’re a Presidential candidate you could brag about *sexual assault *with!’ [/sarcasm]
