The plan was that the MRA vote would be able to weaken Hillary’s support among women by insisting that Hillary is a man-hating femi-nazi and probably a secret lesbian, and so are all her supporters, and Real Women need a Real Man for president.
No, it hasn’t worked, because the MRA voters are basically horrifying and not too bright, but they do exist and they did try. Remember - the “alt-right” describes themselves as “dangerously bright”. They all believe that they are the Top Men in question.
If the GOP hadn’t nominated an Alpha Male caricature, the MRA strategy could have sounded more subtle.
Trump is going full-on rogue, breaking with Priebus, replacing him with Giuliani on Face The Nation, saying they wanted somebody who “represents the campaign”. (Original link was deleted, sorry.)
The RNC has stopped doing campaign work for Trump:
Trump almost certain to bring up Juanita Broadrick tomorrow:
Leaving Trump Tower this afternoon, Giuliani signals GOP civil war:
Some sources on the right also suspect worse to come:
I begin to wonder if the republicans that did not jump ship early, even after seemingly worse acts from Trump, are doing it now because they have acquired that information too.
I’m surprised Paul Ryan is still holding on. He never wanted to endorse Trump in the first place. Now he has a legitimate reason (He’s always had a legitimate reason. But now he has one in the eyes of the GOP.) and he’s still on board? WTF Paul? GTFO!
Ryan is at his “best” when he carefully judges which way the crowd is already going and then hastens to get near but not at the front while loudly proclaiming that he’s been leading all along.
The timing of this tape and the leak regarding Trump’s tax returns are too good politically for this not to have come from the Clinton camp. Which could mean there is more stuff coming down the pipeline.
And just last week Trump was threatening to say hurtful things about Clinton’s family. I find it slightly endearing that Trump thinks his school yard insults could bring down Clinton’s political machine. She just steamrolled right over him.
Curiosity - has anyone here heard people discussing this in the real world? I mean from people who don’t follow politics in depth? Revelation just came yesterday after I got home from work, so didn’t get chance to hear what they might say. Only place I’ve been since then was to get my hair cut, and people were just discussing the hurricane then.
I was thinking that the next SNL debate sketch will be either that, or having “Trump” extend his hand only to grab “Hillary” by the crotch and start kissing her.
