I’ll only be worried that he will pull it off if we see strings coming from the rafters controlling him. And he gets introduced as Mortimer Trump.
By announcing his intention to do something impossible. He says he “will be voting for Mike Pence for President” but that’s not possible in Ohio. There are 18 write-in candidates in Ohio and Mike Pence is (obviously) not one of them. At most, he will be defacing his ballot by writing “Mike Pence” in a space where only the names of candidates are permitted.
It’s very unlikely, but it would be hilarious if his own race came down to a recount, and throwing out the Mike Pence ballots (since they contain a mark other than a vote) throws the race to Strickland.
Hillary needs to be careful, or she could end up with another *deplorables *misfire and hurt her own campaign instead of his.
She made the “deplorables” remark in front of a crowd of donors. She’ll be much more guarded in a debate, especially one with an audience of undecided voters.
Has anyone even noticed that Hillary’s Wall St. speeches were released by wikileaks?
Trump’s first debate performance made everyone forget about Hillary’s various scandals, which during a normal election could have killed her chances at becoming President. But instead, we have another debate dominated by news about Trump and no one focusing on Clinton.
It’s going to be a long day. Perhaps you could just point to the part which you think demonstrates some sort of “scandal”?
The wikileaks story would have been a minor thing without the Trump assault stuff. For one thing, it doesn’t tell us anything new about her. For another, it’s just an alleged transcript – it’s not a videotape. That’s a big, big difference between how it affects media reporting.
Yeah, I have a usually level headed liberal family member who is screaming about that leak of emails and how awful it is for Clinton, and I can’t, for the life of me, find anything particularly bad in there. And, as I’ve mentioned, some of it actually makes me like her more when she is being genuine. Talking about how it’s hard for her to remember being poor, but she still wants to work for the poor? That shit should have been in her stump speech, not hidden in private.
Yup, and I didn’t see anything damaging in them.
What scandals are you talking about? The e-mail one is the only thing that has legs and it’s far less bad than the media made it out to be.
This is why it’s a bad idea to nominate a Presidential candidate who has no previous political experience. People who’ve worked their way up the ranks from the state-level or through Congressional-level politics know the system, they know how to play the game, how to conduct themselves. Outsiders do not and they can be easily led into traps. Having an outsider run for President is like asking me to be the CEO of General Motors. I know fuck-all about cars other than how to drive one and even less about running a company.
This election will serve as a warning to others.
Popcorn nothing! I’m getting the good liquor out for this one!
I love a good inside joke. ![]()
This political neophyte is still pulling 40% or more of the national polling…don’t underestimate the power of demagoguery.
Meanwhile, this morning Trump tweeted a link to a video of Juanita Broderick’s interview. I expect tonight to be incredibly ugly, and I don’t know how Hillary can actually respond to a blizzard of accusations like that. I don’t think I am going to watch tonight…too ugly.
It seems a sex scandal is the only kind of scandal the American public can recognize or respond to.
One is unimpressed with the American people.

The entire SNL opening. Fantastic!
[/QUOTE]I love Alec Baldwin. Are his hands really that small?
This is more than a sex scandal though. I don’t give a shit if a politician is boning outside of his marriage; that’s his wife’s problem, not mine. Unless he is a “family values” hypocrite, it has nothing to do with me as a constituent. Hell, if having affairs somehow makes you have better policies, then have at it.
But, this is Trump bragging that because he is famous, he is able to walk up to women and grab them by the pussy without finding out whether they want him to. He’s not bragging that he should be able to. He’s not bragging that he’d like to. He’s bragging that he does this. That’s not sex, and that’s not a sex scandal. That’s assault, and that’s an assault scandal.
I think that this is one of myriad reasons not to vote for Trump, but I don’t think the American people are wrong for focusing on it. It goes along with the tax story perfectly. Because I’m rich and famous, I can do what I like to the little people.
Saw on FB:
‘The Republicans nominated George W. Bush because he was the “kind of guy you’d want to have a beer with.” That worked so well, now they’ve double-downed on that strategy and nominated the “guy most likely to snort a line off a hooker’s ass”. Man, family values sure are changing fast.’
Trump will snort coke off his daughter’s ass.
Again, nothing really new if you know her, but:
-
It’s important to have a public and a private stand on these issues (finance and international tread).
-
Her vision is a for hemisphere of open borders and free trade.
The first one emphasizes that you can’t trust what she says in public and the 2nd contradicts her newfound stand against free trade. And depending on which hemisphere she’s talking about, that means open borders with Mexico.
I can vote for Trump’s electors while, for the unofficial public record, not voting for Trump. Maybe he thinks it’s a strategy for getting Trump to quit.
Someone else said it earlier in of the threads but any decision to quit will be motivated by money. Don Jr, Eric, and Ivanka have their futures at stake. Ivanka’s got a fairly successful clothing line, I think. The brand is getting rather toxic.
I don’t think Hillary Clinton has ever said she’s really against free trade – she’s for reforming some aspects of it.
There’s nothing in the emails that are damaging in the eyes of any person with a room temperature IQ.
