In another, largely unrelated thread it was mentioned that these Hip Grips are a great way to carry a small-frame revolver. Since then I’ve seen other brands, one for a Glock, for example.
I can’t shake the feeling that for double action guns without trigger-blocking safeties, these things are really dangerous.
Can one really stick a gun in one’s pants without incurring serious risk of accidental discharge? How about a pocket?
I carry a P-32, a P-11, and a couple of NAA minis in pocket holsters. Pocket holsters rilly rawk.
Have a Glock that I picked up as part of a trade. Wouldn’t hesitate to carry it in any holster that covered the trigger guard. Too big for pocket carry, though. I’d be antsy about using it with a clip grip w/o also using some kind of trigger block. It’s during the shoving it into the waistband that I can see the trigger accidentally getting depressed through getting caught on the belt or wistband.
It’s pretty hard to accidentally pull the trigger of a double action revolver. I’ve carried a Smith & Wesson 642, SW642LS, SW342PD, and a SW317LS with the Bami Hip-Grip for about 5 years without anything bad happening. I’ve never had anything in the way of the trigger guard with the Barami Hip-Grip either.
The Glock has a substantially shorter trigger movement and a lighter trigger pull than stock double action revolvers and is more dangerous if you have a bad habbit of having a finger inside the trigger guard.
