Clothahump:
Fuck off.
Care to address an actual veteran who disagrees with you? Or are you comfortable without any information from those who might actually know?
Clothy, the fact your vote is worth as much as mine gives me pause when considering democracy as an ideal method.
I would hope so. I can’t even imagine a bridge that doesn’t go both ways. How would that even work?
OTOH, if you could make it work, you could sell the bridge twice ! That would be cool.

I do appreciate Clothahump having the honesty to say flat out, in my query thread in Elections, that he thinks homosexuality and transgenderism are mental illnesses.
I just hope they don’t influence his undoubtedly rare contact with such people.

The reason he’s pissed is his previous world was destroyed in a catastrophe that he tried to prevent.
He needed the services of an engineer, something that did not exist in his world. He cast a spell, searching other planes of existence for an engineer.
Unfortunately, he reeled in a janitor (whose job title was "Sanitation Engineer). Lacking the strength to cast again, he barely escaped to our world where he lives out his life consumed in bitterness.
And that’s why he hates “political correctness”.
P.S. The janitor, who was an aspiring rock singer, died.
That would explain quite a lot about the history of the Summon Perfect Warlord spell in Erfworld.
Bryan_Ekers:
Oooh, acknowledgement… now for the follow-up question:
Was it a disaster when Reagan and Bush43 doubled the national debt in their 8 years?
I hate to bring a dose of reality to a pit thread…buttttt there is big difference in doubling or tripling something depending on what the starting number was.
1 trillion to 2 trillion is one thing. 10 trillion to 20 trillion is another.
Random example numbers used.

Damn. What was that turtle`s name?

The “disaster” criteria Clothahump described was specifically that the debt doubled, not that it increased by X amount.
If he cares to rethink his position, he’s free to do so.

Nitpick: to rethink a position implies that thinking was involved in arriving at the position in the first place. So, while he’s free to do so, whether he’s capable of doing so is another matter entirely.

I’m a Veteran too. I 'd also like some answers from all these “Ted Nugent” types out there.

So, over a year after Obama’s election and months after ACA was drafted, Obama shut down some of McCain’s whining. That does nothing to support your erroneous belief that the Democratic leadership told the Republicans to go away from the very beginning. It simply means that when the Republicans continued their **obstructionist policies for over a year **after the inauguration, Obama finally told them to pull up their big boy pants and stop whining.
If your little video had been shot in february 2009, you would have had a point. It was not and you do not.
Only after months of refusing to work with the Democrats.
It was not the chairman of the DNC that was forced by his members to make a public apology to Limbaugh for claiming that Limbaugh was not the head of the Republican Party . Limbaugh does not set policy, but his nonsense has had a frequent effect on causing Republican politicians (who do set policy) to fall in line behind his idiotic rhetoric.
No. the other amendments that came out of Dodd’s committee and the other portions of the ACA mentioned in the link provided by Fear Itself. I remembered “more than 150,” but there were 161.
No, you are writing shit to re-write history .
Lie, rewrite history, never be responsible for anything. Nothing ever changes. That’s why I get sick of this shit and disappear so often. It never fucking stops.

Obamacare is a fucking disaster. It’s amazing how no one seems to remember “If you like your plan, you can keep your plan ” or how “Obamacare would bend the cost curve downwards and save the average American family $2,500 a year”-- both of which were outright lies and acknowledged as lies. You pay more for less, and many (most?) exchanges are failing if they haven’t already. At this point, you have to be extremely partisan to even bother defending it.
I liked my plan, and guess what, fucknuts, I KEPT IT. I’m in a health plan with Kaiser. Have been for years. I KEPT IT. My rates stayed the same too.
Lie some more.
If you find yourself frequently accusing the people around you of lying, perhaps some self re-evaluation is in order.
I can understand that Clothalump might be wishing himself elsewhere right now. Yes, Trump won nationally. Locally:
Ending a streak of thin electoral margins, Harris County — the biggest battleground in ruby red Texas with a population larger than 25 other states — turned solidly blue on Tuesday with the largest presidential margin of victory in more than a decade.
The blue wave was apparent up and down the ballot on a banner night for the county’s Democrats.
They swept up every single countywide seat, including the district attorney and sheriff’s offices. They flipped a Texas House district in Pasadena. And with a presidential fight at the top of the ticket, Democrats shored up their lead in the fight for the typically purple county with Hillary Clinton beating Donald Trump by more than 160,000 votes — up from the 971 votes with which Obama took the county in 2012…
In emails to supporters, prominent local conservatives called it “the worst defeat for Republicans” in the 71-year history of the county’s Republican party. Citing losses in Dallas and Houston, Abbott in a Thursday email to supporters said “the threats to the Lone Star State remain very real.” And discussing a need to focus on down-ballot races after tough losses, Republican Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, whose son lost his judgeship in Harris, said Republicans must continue reaching out to Hispanic voters.
Anthony Bourdain’s latest Parts Unknown took him to Houston . He seemed surprised to really enjoy his visit. The main reason–and a reason for the electoral changes? Diversity!
Let me educate you once again, BPC - we do not live in a democracy.
So, Clothahump, doubling the debt…? Only a disaster if a Democrat’s in the White House?
For that matter, since Congress controls spending, does it even matter who’s in the White House?

The Prez has to sign off on it. If Congress doesn’t have the headcount to override a veto, he can send the budget back with suggested cuts.
This is why the President should have line item veto authority.

And since everyone who voted for Trump seems fine with Steve Bannon and his role in the administration, I think that just proves the point, doesn’t it?

Very insightful, but it ducks the question again. Was it a disaster when it happened under Reagan and Bush43?
