Clove cigarettes harmful to dogs?

I am taking care of my girlfriend’s dog for the weekend. While I was taking a shower, he chewed up a pack of clove cigarettes. Most of the cigarettes are intact, and there are no signs of loose tobacco around. I don’t think the dog ate any of them, but there’s a chance that he did. If he did, would this be harmful to the dog? He is a yellow lab and foxhound mix.

I suggest calling the Poison Control Center, 1-800-222-1222. They would be the ones to ask, even for pets.
