CNN

I have to be honest with you, I don’t like censorship, and think these and there ISIS video should be available for the public to see; I feel news agencies should at least provide links to see them, then let the viewer decide if they can stomach it or not.

The problem with NOT showing them or editing them is it causes Internet conspiracy stories that they were acted.

The interest span of your basic smart phone user, and it saves time, effort and money if they don’t write an article.

I guess I’m feeling snarky on this subject, maybe because my job means I have to look at this stuff every day…

CNN not handing you a link isn’t censorship. The video is out there, if you want to look at it, go find it. The producers put it on the internet on purpose, it isn’t just going to go away.

They have indeed become the Monster Truck Rally of online news. Reuters, you say? Lemme go look.

It looks much the same. The banner of headlines at CNN is good.

What on earth does this have to do with censorship? Do you think the government is preventing CNN from showing the video?

(By the way, I watched the video. I was prepared to be disgusted and angered; I wasn’t prepared to lose my lunch and cry like a baby . . . plus disgusted and angered beyond belief. Did ISIS really think they’d win hearts and minds via this atrocity? And did CNN really think they would?)

I think the so called Islamic state whats to frighten people into paying ransom.

A more likely outcome is that all captives they take in the future will be given up for dead.

I did not say they are intelligent.

It’s not censorship for CNN to decide itself, without any outside authority’s input, not to air these videos. It’s news judgment. Any media outlet has to decide what to publicize and what not to.

I can’t stand the website redesign either… I’m assuming they did it so it will be “tablet friendly” or something. CNN is not the only one to do this… the Weather Channel’s website (weather.com) is similar and I’ve seen the same changes made to other (at this time, unremembered) sites that I’ve been to.

I blame Steve Jobs.

Sports Illustrated is similarly unreadable.

Reuters, AP and Al Jezzera US are my go-to news sites. Al Jazzera has great feature stories.
