CNN's gotten more Trumpy now

CNN now acquired by Trump friend.

Was the never the biggest CNN fan anyway, with their occasional bothsidesism, but now…

That was mostly incompetence, but now they’re likely to become another Fox News and together they will shape a new Orwellian fictional reality. There will be no significant PBS or NPR to counter them as Trump is driving them into bankruptcy. LIkewise any objectionable content on HBO not conformant with Republican orthodoxy will be summarily eliminated. John Oliver’s days are numbered, and likely Bill Maher’s, too.

This sort of mega-merger of media should never be allowed just on principle, let alone when it’s so politically charged. David Ellison is a total right-wing loon.

Not surprised at all. I gave up on CNN long ago, as the repetitive nature of their “reporting” was tiresome.

Wonder if Jake Tapper’ll flee.

The one serious and principled reporter/anchor on their staff is Anderson Cooper. I imagine he’ll probably be leaving CNN as soon as it’s apparent that the lunatics at the top are going to be dictating its editorial policy, unless they fire him first.

Cooper all about his “Surviving Grief”*pod cast.

I’ve been saying for about a year his heart wasn’t in the game any more.

I’ve swore off TV 24hr new channels. Never really followed til 9/11.

And then, one by one disaster after disaster. It just got to be too much.

The last election was the last straw. I said no more, no how, no way.

I’ve mostly succeeded. When I read a piece in the paper or a post here I check in.

Yeah I believe the News-that-be is just not right.

*Can’t remember the real name.

It’s called “All There Is with Anderson Cooper”, though I’ve never watched it. But I do think he’s a serious journalist and may well be frustrated with many of the clowns on CNN.

Jake Tapper will roll over and show his belly for whoever is signing the checks.

When it was fashionable to bash Biden, he bashed Biden, now it’s fashionable to bash Trump. When baby Ellison takes over CNN, he’ll parrot the party line.

In my limited view Kaitlyn Collins (CNN anchor) makes me feel more confident she’s in it for the truth.

Trump recently hurled a variety of insults at Collins, including telling her that she never smiles. This greatly raised her in my estimation, and is also deeply ironic coming from a malevolent orange narcissist with a permanent scowl on his face. Bill Maher had a great response to that recently, saying “Kaitlyn Collins smiles when she’s on my show!” showing a picture of Collins with a big beautiful smile!

The CNN anchor I most trust is Abby Phillip, whose program airs after Collins’.

mmm

The silver lining is that two Fox News style networks will drain each other. I doubt Fox wants that strong of a competitor. This might hurt both networks, and could lead to someone else gaining prominence with real news.

There’s a reason why we haven’t had two major right wing news networks before. I don’t think there’s room for it.
